Yeah, I was thinking that. But as you say, we only had one suitable, otherwise unengaged southpaw on the pitch and he's basically a Chelsea player so there was really nothing to be done about it.Originally posted by Peter View PostHang on. Don't we pay a bloke a lot of money to work this **** out?

Merse was really excited about us signing Eze and I was wondering if he will turn out to be half as good.Originally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostThat's a point. Merse used to be beautiful with the outside of foot. I remember won game in the '91-'92 season - I think it was 7-1 vs Sheff Weds - where he lobbed the keeper from the left hand corner of the box into the far top corner with the outside of his boot. Utterly Divine.
Couldn't Dec try to slice in an inswinger with the outside of his right boot? Would be a good skill to practice, passing it out wide to the wingers from the middle of the park."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

One solution is to be less reliant on corners.....or for Martinelli to win a few the other side.Originally posted by redgunamo View PostYeah, I was thinking that. We are not "reliant" on corners, we're merely good at them.

Exactly right too. Well said.Originally posted by Rich View PostArteta is on record as saying he wants to maximise every phase of the game in our advantage. That includes corners, throw ins, goal kicks and indeed; open play."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
