Agree on Atkinson and Stokes, but i think you have to play Archer in as many as possible- if he is bowling well.Originally posted by Luis Anaconda View PostAtkinson and Stokes will play all five Tests if fit with the other four rotating (Archer and Wood first up). I think Tongue could cause problems - hopefully bowl like he did against Surrey - he was superb (sorry PSRB)
At his best, he is a different level. We've not had that in an ashes tour for a long, long time.
I'd settle for a competitive series, for us to at least be in the games. That has been the worst part of recent tours. The ashes is the summit of cricket and the last three tours have been a total non event.

I'd settle for a Joe Root century - that will she ****ers up for a while. Be interesting to see what the pitches are like. Brisbane day nighter is an interesting one as well - we don't do well under lightsOriginally posted by Peter View PostAgree on Atkinson and Stokes, but i think you have to play Archer in as many as possible- if he is bowling well.

I'd say Joe Root is currently a better player than he ever has been. He should score big runs there.Originally posted by Luis Anaconda View PostI'd settle for a Joe Root century - that will she ****ers up for a while. Be interesting to see what the pitches are like. Not worried about the runs so much

At least we don't have Brisbane 1st up as we always lose there. I do have to agree with Sir Geoff, we'll be rocking up to the 1st test with very little competitive practice.Originally posted by Luis Anaconda View PostI'd settle for a Joe Root century - that will she ****ers up for a while. I don't agree with day/night tests. Too much of a lottery. And you want the crowd full from the start.Originally posted by Luis Anaconda View PostI'd settle for a Joe Root century - that will she ****ers up for a while.
