I did. I thought that was an iffy signing for Liverpool. He was just too injury prone and he lacked the responsibility to play centrally where his skill set was best suited.

I was thinking more a younger players. RVP was almost 30 when we sold him and we had no choice, reasonable money for a player of that age as well.

It seems most times we sell a young player there is hand wringing about how much we got and how good they might become but we seem to get these decisions right.

Look at Peter's list. Nelson, Nketiah and ESR will never be anything more than average, the three that stayed are all stars or going to be, possible exception of Nwaneri which is still a bit of an open question.

With RVP, AW said he knew he only had 18 months left at the top level. Selling him to the Mancs gave them a title allowing Fergie to retire and they've never recovered from that.

But I can't believe you don't rate Ethan. He was 17-18 last season and scored more both in the Prem and in total than Odin did in fewer games.

I agree with you. And what I said about hesitancy and dominance, that comes with game time. I like him and I think he is worth more than we are selling him for. But I can also see what Arteta prefers in the new guy and I guess he is more interested in strengthening the squad than worrying over a few million here and there.
