Yes, that's the key question now. isn't it; how can we completely ruin what has been an excellent transfer window

Zero chance. The likes of Martinelli / Ben White / Odegaard would be sold long before Nwaneri.Originally posted by Peter View PostWhat if Chelsea offer 60-70 million for Nwaneri........?
We have spent a ****load of money this summer, around 270 million with nothing coming in. Net spend miles above everyone else.
200 net I could understand, just. This is now serious money. Somebody is leaving......
He's the very antithesis of what we'd look to sell. Did you hear him saying how, as a young boy he could hear the Emirates when Arsenal scored from his bedroom window.
No way. No chance.

He has almost certainly been bought to play LW/LCM. Merino and Trossard will be filling in for Kai if needed.Originally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostWe know you hate Gabby M but no. Leo got a pay rise yesterday and we'd keep Gabby over him were one going. Eze is cover for Kai in the false 9 role, and - when we have Gyok playing well and/or Kai back - an option at AM, either as cover for or with Odin. If he gets a chance on the left when everyone's fit and it works, fine.
But we didn't buy a forward last winter window and look at the fall out. Window closes and Kai injured. Had we signed no-one and Vik plays sheet or gets injured, we'd have had everyone on our backs and our world class players might have had their heads turned.
If this was gonna happen, thank Ganpati it happened before the window shuts, not just after. And thank God we have a 27-year old, PL ready, life-long Gooner to buy as the replacement for the injured star.
When everyone is fit, we have Gabby, Leo, Noni, Eze and Jeez who can play LW at EPL and CL level. So no. I really pray that Gabby proves you wrong this year. I shall expect an apology.

The only way for us to sell better while maintaining a top level is to have a larger squad. Signing young players on long contracts (with fees spread) is fine. They have low wages and if they work out then great... if not we sell them.Originally posted by Peter View PostPlenty of ways to do it
Selling defenders is one. Buying more second hand **** from Chelsea is another.....
Chelsea, City and Liverpool all do it exceptionally well. Chelsea have sold 200+ this season. Liverpool 150m+. City... depends if Savinho goes but still a large sum.
We have made nothing. But it's because we have opted for a small squad with lots of stabilty.

This could be a possibility. He?s pure profit. He?ll also head down the Nelson cul de sac if he doesn?t push on. He is only 18 though and we probably wouldn?t get full value at this point.Originally posted by Peter View PostThere is another possibility. It is crazy, but hear me out............
We might sell Nwaneri.......
For me, it?s Jesus,Martinelli who seem most likely, unless Trossard is happier to play off the bench. We could flog him to Spurs though, just to rub it in.

I understand all these schoolchildren (Dowman, Nwanieri etc., there were a dozen or so of them at the open training the other day) don't actually take up official squad places and you can register as many of them as you like?Originally posted by Rich View PostZero chance. It would be insane for us to effectively sell Ethan for Noni plus ten mil. He's 18. He didn't play the first half of the season and still scored about 9 goals. He has huge potential. We signed him on a five year deal for a reason.Originally posted by Peter View PostWhat if Chelsea offer 60-70 million for Nwaneri........?

The way I see it is like the year before when we wanted Raya but had to pay for him the following summer. I reckon Eze will come out of next year's money so we'll buy one fewer big name next summer. Or maybe it's come out of the winter buy if necessary money.
And I can live with that. Instead of buying an Eze type player in Jan we have him already and will have Kai and Jeez back, Ganpati willing.
And if all our stars extend their contracts, it could be that we just buy a LW next summer and that's it.

We can't afford to sell Ben White and at this point, is there a queue for Martinelli?
We have signed two players this summer who are going to get in Nwaneri's way....

Not an issue. Those we've signed are properly blooded and ready to play right now; Dowman, for example, and Nwaneri, may actually finish school and decide to go and get a proper job. They may not even be footballers at Noni's age.Originally posted by Peter View PostI'd be stunned. But what if we need to sell and he is the only one we can sell?

If I'm Nwaneri, I'm not feeling the love from my coach at the moment. Madueke was arguable but Eze is going to steal minutes from him. No question.Originally posted by redgunamo View PostNot an issue. He needs to play. He's too good for anything other than senior football and he will stall if he doesn't play. Look at how MLS jumped ahead of him last season with regular starts.

A bigger squad (hopefully) means more matches, more opportunities for him.Originally posted by Peter View PostIf I'm Nwaneri, I'm not feeling the love from my coach at the moment. Madueke was arguable but Eze is going to steal minutes from him. No question.

Disagree. He's the cover for Odin. He may be tried elsewhere but that's his main place in the squad atm. Eze can play L8, LW or false 9. He won't play right 8 cos his big thing is cutting inside from the left onto his right boot.Originally posted by Peter View PostIf I'm Nwaneri, I'm not feeling the love from my coach at the moment. I think it will be fine.
