Madrid willing to let Rodrygo go too. Surely a loan with an obligation or loan with big fee + Option to buy make sense?

Kiwior off to Porto for 35m too. Hein off to Werder Bremen.

Also it's quite amusing that given Gyokeres is certainly not fit enough for 90 mins and quite arguably not good enough to be starting games for The Arsenal at all; we are going to end up with Merino leading the line at Anfield

No way Porto pay anything like that much. If we sell Kiwior, we are short on defensive cover. Back to where we were two seasons ago

It does seem as though somebody really wants Merino up front again.

One game in and it is looking like the same old song and dance......

Apparently it's an ACL so I doubt we'll see him again until next tear. We are actively looking... that's the good thing. And some other reasons to be postivie:

              1. Jesus is back at some point and is undeniably our most talented forward player in tight spaces.
              2. Calafiori and Mosquera more than cabable at LCB.
              3. Martinelli can't do any worse at CF than he is at LW. Maybe Trossard comes and plays on the left with Martinelli up front.
              4. If we do sign an attacker which now seems very likely; surely we will get one that can play on the left or centrally.

Hear me out here... If Newcastle are as deeply upset with Liverpool as they seem to be; would it be beyond the realms of possibility that we go to Josh and Stan with our begging bowl and get a deal for Isak done.

They'd much rather sell to us now after Liverpool took Etikete from under their noses and then unsettled the player with a low ball bid. I cannot see them selling Isak to Liverpool at all. And I can't see Isak wanting to go to Saudi.

Point 1- Are you forgetting that Jesus is also made of Weetabix ?

I think we need to clutch at any straw we can get our hands on right now, 7.

So we are back to fielding a non goalscoring striker and relying on just 7 defenders, one of whom is extremely injury prone. Exactly where we were two seasons ago.

You are not going to see Jesus before the end of October at the very earliest. If Havertz is out for the season, we need to sign a striker. And, without being too dramatic, we are pretty ****ed.

Isak is very injury prone and is currently acting like a ****. Even if we had the money (and we dont) I'm not sure i want him.

And you are forgetting that Newcastle hate us more than they hate Liverpool.

Chido Obi-Martin is probably having deep regrets about fecking off to United.

                            His knees probably aren't.

God clearly does not want us to have a centre forward.

We have plenty of headroom. If KSE want to make cash available then we can have him. Other options I can think of include:

                              1. Rodrygo - Makes sense for a number of reasons. Wages the biggest downside.
                              2. Julian Alvarez. I see his agent making noise about regretting going to Athletico. Well he'd be a huge signing for us. Can play anywhere in a front three. Berta bought him to Athletico too so presumably already has a relationship with his representatives. Fee being the big downside.
                              3. Watkins - Arsenal fan. PL proven. Cheapish. Villa need to sell. Not a level raiser but solid.

If it was Isak though.... We'd all be dancing on the streets of Holloway Road.
