But why can't tricky midgets take corners nowadays. If having Rice joining the big lads in the box improved our chances of actually scoring by just five or ten percent, that's alot.
We?re only really a threat from corners when big Gab is playing. We?ve been a bit meh since he?s been sidelined.

They can take them. Just not as well as him.

      Nwaneri's free kicks were rubbish.

Tells you all you need to know really. Game's gone.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

This is true. Hopefully the Brentford lad might step up regularly.

Nice start for Madueke. Miss a penalty in your first game.

Never let Merino take one again.

Unfortunate. But happily, they're not going to be taking too many of them.

But when do we get to play a game of football against a team that actually WANTS to play a game of football

Do we want to play a game of football? We didn't seem too keen on it last season.....

None of this matters. What matters is that we are ready when the real action starts. Odegaard looked sharp although his touch wasn't quite at his level. Good to see Gabriel and Timber getting minutes.

We may start the season a bit slowly. That is ok, as long as we don't start it terribly.

I?m not going to be happy if we lose to United, regardless of the circumstances tbh

If we defend half as bad as we did yesterday, we will definitely lose there.
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

The good news is that Ben Jacobs off The Times has said Arteta's priority is a left winger & after that an attacking midfieldner. He also said that we are asking Madrid about the conditions of a loan with obligation for Rodrygo. Also said Trossard is available for transfer.

So I am thinking that Viera, Trossard and Nelson will all go. And if possible we will bring in Rodrygo (loan) and Eze.

Martinelli was woeful for the first half hour. Lost possession too easily and too often. Ok, it?s pre season but clearly Gyokeres lost confidence in him to a point where he started making runs himself from the left.
Martinelli did improve but we definitely need to have other options than the right sided, Madueke and a half out the door Trossard.

Isn't that one of his trademarks, though? Like Titi and {less so} Auba - two previous no.14s - cutting inside from the left flank and banging it into the far corner.

Whereas I am thinking that Ben Jacobs is talking out of his ****ing arse. Agree with you on the likely departures. Hopefully Zinchenko as well. I like the guy, but he is ****ing useless.

Martinelli was ****. Struggling to understand it.....

He's usually pretty good, in fairness. If we don't sign anyone that can play on the left then you certainly can't let Nelson leave under any circumstance.
