  • Well I thought that was ****ing gorgeous

away to the 9th place team in the league, other than a short period after the goal we were utterly dominant.

And not only were we dominant, we played with a freedom we saw rarely last year. Some of the passing through midfield was direct and creative and beautiful to watch. Madueke and Eze were not perfect, but they looked more comfortable, more confident. And Gyok was what we’ve needed recently, a presence up front. At one point in the first half they pressed us man to man deep in our half. We played it to the right side and launched a long ball up to Gyok who held it up and brought midfield into play. Problem solved.

wd Arsenal, we’re going to be champions

I am afraid I have to completely disagree with you, Wes. We were in fact at home

Otherwise, I ageee. Ten minutes after tje goal were poor but other than that, all good. The ambition to be more positive and more aggressive in possession is there. The execution not quite right.

Too often we just stumbled into the defensive line. But I guess that is happens when you weaken your forward line and then lose two more to injury.

That was what you want from a home game. Fairly comfortable win, clean sheet. Job done.

Considering the run of fixtures we're in the middle of results are what matter. Rest everyone for Fleetwood and then our toughest game on paper after that.

It's relentless when you think about it. Modern day football has become a slog. I genuinely hope we get knocked out of the beer cup sooner than later.

Oh bugger - I wondered why the pitch was so good that far up north

Agree the execution was not perfect, it was the mindset that I loved

Agree. That cup was a frustrating distraction last season and a complete waste of time. I'd happily go out in the next round.

i am not hugely fussed about the champions league at this stage. I dont care if we finish outside the top four or five. Not scared of who will face, apart from PSG. And if are going to have to beat them anyway, may as well get it out of the way early.

I dont care about reaching semi finals or finals. It is now win it or **** it off as far as I am concerned.

I agree. That mindset has been there all season. I love it. It is the next step forward.

I loved it in the AW days when we just played the kids. That was perfect, the starting XI all got a rest, we'd get to see the next generation and occasionally the kids would beat the Sperz.

But if we have a squad of 22+ internationals, then they have to play in these games. We have the leaping Salmon and the Doctor but that's it.

Do we have any other kids coming through?
