    Quite frustrating.

I'm afraid the game management philosophy is so deeply ingrained into this group of players that they automatically default to it. Even when the manager probably doesn't want them to.

for 5 or 10 min we were - very good since then

Some of the passing through midfield is gorgeous, Merino I love in that position. Eze looks better today imo, Gyok the physical presence we have been needing, prefer Madueke on the left but he looks good as well

Very happy at this point, you two are right miserable f*ckers

Merino is playing well. MLS is a bit awkward at left back.

And yes, we have settled now.

I've said for ages that I wish we'd seen MnM in the GX-style inside left role. His injury meant we played Wigwam and Dec and then Kaiser's injury meant he went up top. Next season we got Zubi and this won Bruno.

But having a MF who's happy in the left-8 pocket and can score, assist and help create should help balance the team. He's a really good player.

After all that was said last season, a front 3 today of Noni-Vik-Easy with MnM in MF was perfectly acceptable. And none of those are first choice for our front 5.

But I do wonder why MLS started when both LBs were on the bench. {He was fine there, btw.} And why Triphop was being warmed up when it looked like Big Gabby could go off.

He doesnt really see Calafiori as a centre back and I assume Hincapie wasnt 100% fit. MLS was supposed be occupying the midfield pivot so that Merino could **** off upfield.

i dont like him at left back.

He's an intl CH for Italy. He's tall, good in the air, strong, comfortable on the ball, has enough pace for recovery etc.

              MLS was fine today.

But I bet you hated that. Lots of possession, don't create much, score a set piece then game management. Still, we got an early goal and a second mid-way through the second half so it could have been a lot worse. We could have lost at Villa.

Sperz are up to mid-table but I guess the one benefit is that the Chavs lost.

The Blue Cartel had a tough day all round.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."
