Ah, the 'eye of the tiger' argument. Are we going to send him back to a South London pub team with Apollo Creed?Originally posted by Rich View Post
My theory on Saka is that he is, in part; too comfortable. If he lost his place to a Dowman or a new signing I think you'd see him play with some 'pain in his tummy' or 'poision in his veins' as our manager likes to put it.
He never had a hunger problem before. Why now?
I think it is more complicated. But I do agree there is a mental aspect to it. Madeuek showed exactly what Saka is missing- the change of pace. Saka did everything at 30 mph.

I think the appeal will drag on for years.Originally posted by Rich View Post
If they aren't punished this season (and I can't see how the PL can do that) then anything they win will be hollow. To the extent that whoever comes second should hold a parade as winners.
Either way the season is hollow. If they aren't punished, nobody will acknowledge them as champions. If they are, and we are given the title due to the points deduction, i wont celebrate it. I can't celebrate being champions after being the second best side. That is asterix territory
We need to beat them to the title on actual points.

I don't think he means it. I think it's natural. If he feels hurt or embarrassed to have lost his place then a fight or flight situation will occur inside him. The desire to prove people wrong will give him an extra 5%. Like Nasser Hussain scoring that ton at Lord's and giving it the bigg'un to the press box who all had their knives out.Originally posted by Peter View Post

Well the punishment will be imposed while the appeal goes on, I understand. As it was for Everton who had their punishment reduced from 10 pts to 8 pts on appeal (for one charge - I might add).Originally posted by Peter View Post

I just look at it as if City are a complete irrelevance. Not there. A myth. They'll be expelled/relegated at some point so why pretend they're where they are legitimately when the world knows they're not.

At the moment they are there legitimately. Where is the punishment? Why haven't we been told what it is?Originally posted by Rich View Post

You should not assume that this is the end of the processprocess.ould drag on for years. it isnt like the previous examples.

Last year, everyone was saying Ødin was finished, but he's been back to his best since the WC. It'll click with B, Ganpati willing, so no need to worry.Originally posted by Peter View Post

Honestly, I think he needs a complete break. I don't see him recovering without it. It may well be that he is just completely burned out. Has barely had a break since he was 17.Originally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View Post

We cant afford to have him playing like this all season. It is really hurting us.

If you look how well he played when he came on as a sub, I reckon we could try getting the best of both worlds by bringing him off the bench for a few matches in a row. Bring on one or two of Kaiser, Ødin and a RB at the same time and have a whole new right-side unit for the opposition to deal with à la Lille.Originally posted by Peter View Post

If we start with Noni on the left while Quantum's out, could start the doctor at RW and perhaps Vik and/or Easy at 9/10.

Yes, our squad is pretty much a cheat-code.Originally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View Post

Well played.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

3 matches in a row we've scored after the treble change. We have Quantum out and MLS and Zubi didn't even come on. To think, we've played with both our WC final winning MFers on the bench. Came on for Spain to win the WC, yet can't do it in our squad.Originally posted by redgunamo View Post

Well played.
Dunno how happy Zubi's gonna be. I think MnM is happy as he'll be used more in MF this year and also up top. I'd love Zubi to stay and fight for his place, especially as he gives us cover for Dec. If you look how well he played for the first 80% of last season, Zubi-Bruno/MLS-Ødin is a MF that can win the league.
But if he does want to go cos he's won Euro and WC finals {which is fair enough} then we want the amount a WC/Euro MFer at his peak is worth. No cheap deals like Fabio etc. If RM want him for their starting XI they can pay what a RM first teamer is worth. So we can buy a young replacement, a bit like Triphop for under 20 mil or put it towards a 100m+ forward. If Bruno at 28 is worth 80m, then a 27 year old Zubi has to be worth the same.
They were hinting that if we did get Vini we'd be paying RM striker prices, so Zubi would be a RM MFer price. No "We're Real and we get players cheap cos everyone wants to play for us" nonsense. But in an ideal world, he stays. We know how good Triphop is and how he'll keep getting better {and will end up a bargain like Big Gabby and Big Willy, but given his current injury, Ezri's been vital to us staying in contention with our French TA/MK/DO'L/SC/KT mix being out for the first few months of the season. MLS and Bruno could cover Dec, but Zubi would be perfect as a pure DM.
