It's the only explanation. Even Brighton being more up for it doesn't account for this.

This is 'second season syndrome'. It isnt that you are a cup final for everyone else. It is because your own desire drops a touch. That's all it takes.Originally posted by All Guns Blazing II View PostIt's the only explanation. Even Brighton being more up for it doesn't account for this.
Arteta needs to spend the international break working out how to get them focused again. Bad day, fair enough. It must never happen again.

I definitely think being a prize scalp to be had was something back in the old first division days. But not anymore.Originally posted by Peter View Post

We lean very hard into the intensity thing under Mikel. It's the days where you inevitably can't always be at that level that you're looking for an x factor type of player to produce something out of nowhere. We have no such player. We have one or two who fancy themselves to be, but really, they're not.

All true. But we were so far off the pace today that a Messi would have struggled to bail us out.Originally posted by All Guns Blazing II View Post

It happens. But if it happens twice, we are done. Arteta needs to get to work on them now. There has to be consequences when you don't turn up.
Worried about Saka. He still doesnt seem right. Slow and indecisive. Not himself.

You drop even a decent forward with legitimate pace into that side and Brighton would have approached us completely differently. They were happy to push up onto us with impunity because they didn't fear our attack. They knew we weren't going to trouble them on the counter. A certain fleet footed Brazilian might have at least given them cause for concern.Originally posted by Peter View Post

He certainly would have done! But Solace wasn't taken off until 73 minutes. And who wouldn't have made the bench if our man was on it?Originally posted by All Guns Blazing II View Post

There is literally no excuse for being second to the ball again and again....Originally posted by All Guns Blazing II View Post

I'm worried about Gronky P. When he came on I thought "Now we'll see some brilliant Hold up play alright" - but he just charged around like some Scandi soft-wit inbred. We'll have to let him go P, to Fulham I reckon but we musn't ask silly money for him.Originally posted by Peter View Post
