Gabriel clearly doesn't have a home to go to. Or has he recently given birth, so to speak?
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Is Hincapie injured? Was expecting him to play.

Well done, Reds. You magicked the young Doctor's first of the night. Tasty goal, too.

PS - at the start of last year, when we were getting our first glimpses of Max, the word was that he's even better as a ten than RW.

Perhaps moving Easy to the back up LW creates space for Max in the squad? The cover for Ødin is Bruno for a more complete MF or Max for the pure no/10 creativity.

I like him in the hole because he can look the keeper in the eye and finish. Goals are important in that role.

          Nil-2. Madders.

Bruno is making a huge impact.

                MnM is class.

But do you reckon that as Max bulks out and gains experience, he could be a false 9? Could he be better cover for Kaiser than Vik?

Could be. Can't happen yet though, senior players gotta play.

Think he'll be able to play in any forward position. I don't want to compare him to Messi but that's exactly what I'm going to do - the way he carries the ball & the speed at which he can move it off either foot is sublime. That and his balance being so good really make him an exciting prospect - Dare i say the most exciting prospect I've ever seen at the club (beating young Jack to that title).

Can only hope that the injury gods are on his side.

The best thing is that his family are Gold Members - otherwise I'd think there would be a very real chance of him leaving to Madrid / Barca.

I do think people need to calm down a bit. He looks great but performances at 16/17 are not always a great indicator of the level a player might reach.

Could he be a false 9? MnM's done a great job there and yesterday showed what he can do as a MFer. You can see why MA signed him the year after he initially tried Kai as GX's left-8 replacement. He's good enough in the overall role to win a WC, but also has that Freddie like ability to arrive late to score and to create.

But imagine Max as the no.9 assuming he could learn to press as well as Kai. Doesn't have Kai's height for headers and won't hold the ball up as well, but has all the skills to create on the edge of the box against a parked bus, he can dribble his way through, he can play on the counter, finish when put through 1-on-1. And could work with Ødin as Kaiser does.

I wondered if part of the reason for Gabriel playing (he turns out surprisingly often in these lesser matches which is a huge risk) was to chaperone Salmon. Not that the boy required much looking after. Hard to believe that was only his second start.

If that were true, I think we'd have given him a go on the left as well as RW and 10.

He has B and Non ahead of him on the right, and has shown last night and in the final game vs the Eagles last season that he can be a creative no.10 purrfectly. But if he could play LW, we'd have surely given him a go by now.
