I'm not sure this was the plan. I think they lost their way a bit.

Arteta has always dithered slightly when it comes to buying forwards. Clearly they gave up a few days ago because there isnt even a sniff of a rumour anywhere.

    Disappointing.

If they called it quits on a new striker a few days ago then that only makes the treatment Gyok all the more baffling.

Again... dithering. I'm not convinced that Aeteta knows what to do with him.

Look at this kid at Lyon that we apparently asked about a few days ago. Presumably we thought he was good enough to take a punt on. We choked on the price. Sunderland are signing him for 26 million. We thought he was good enough but not worth that??

Or could we not decide whether he was good enough or not?

Arteta is decisive when he is buying midfielders and defenders. But he seems to hate buying forwards.

It's been a puzzling transfer window. Not completely convinced that Arteta and Berta are on the same page.

And Balogun has failed his medical! Looks like we won't be getting that sell on fee.

Apparently, the Saudi deadline is not for a couple more days. So Martinelli wont be confirmed just yet.
