  • Well, thanks god that's over

and I expect that Declan will be fine in a month, Saka I think we will see fit and healthy, in January.

The Argies really are a stain on football, aren't they? Cowardly, dirty, cheating filth, each and every one of them. The way they played first half was disgusting, and typical of them. The young Simeone is a talentless hack, a cowardly cheat, just like his father was. Let's hope Spain gives them a hiding.

And on the Arsenal transfer front, two things from last night.

Rogers never looked comfortable on the right, even with the great ball in for the goal. He is never a wide player and given how well Ode played in the WC it makes no sense to me to think we would spend 100mil on him, or even buy him at all.

Same with Alvarez who did a few nice things first half but was largely anonymous, yet again. He's not a 9 or a wide attacking player, his best role is probably a 10 playing alongside a standard 9, but we don't play that way. He's never worth 100mil to anyone, but especially not to us. Plus, he's an Argie and I never want to ever see one of those in an Arsenal strip.

I'd like a left sided attacking player with bags of pace and an already great midfielder. And our current squad, the champions, to be fit and ready for the start of the season. C'est tout.

We're being linked with the Norwegian lad again. Musa?

Last night was on Tuchel. Southgate could be forgiven for affording himself a wry smile at that last 30 minutes. Kane really has matured into a fine defensive midfielder over the course of this tournament. An actual point man up front would have been handy though.

Nusa, I think. Great feet, very talented on the ball but little end product from what I've seen.

Tuchel bottled it. Going to a back five with 10 min left was fine, even if it didn't work out. But playing a low block and hoofing it forward from 56min on was unforgivable. The filthy Argies were there for the taking and Tuchel bottled it.

Truth be told I never managed to get into the World Cup. Perhaps, after the highs of last season it could just never compete.

Now to transfers; While Alvarez didn't look much for Argentina - we know what a terrific player he is. At Man City he was awesome and Real and Barca had him top of their shopping lists.

Agree on the need for a left-sided player but there really doesn't seem to be many options. Rogers has had success there and we know that he'll do well in the PL - and is young so not yet at the peak of his powers.

Saliba's issue is a big concern. I would be highly supportive of John Stones on a free. Who says no?

Those substitutions were worse than anything Arteta's ever done. Ridicules.

It's still not over as still have the stupid 3rd/4th place playoff

Agreed re the subs but it was the tactics before the subs that really bothered me. We dropped deep immediately after the goal! Tuchel should have been getting us further up the pitch and playing for the 2nd, we were in control at that point. Insanely stupid.

Pretty much the point i made about Arsenal all last season. But this was far worse.

We have a back five that can absorb pressure, close space in the last third and defend balls into the box. England dont. Tuchel had at least 3 or 4 warnings before they equalised but he didnt change it. Those crosses were causing absolute chaos and we were so lucky to escape.

The first sub tied his hands. Going to a back five dictated the rest of the changes. And all he really did was give Messi the freedom of the pitch. Very, very silly.

I'm glad our guys are coming home. Rice really shouldn't have been on the pitch as he is clearly not fit. Saka arguably shouldn't evej have been in the squad.

As for the Argies, what a despicable bunch, across the board. Disgusting footballers, vile politicians and arsehole fans. They make my distaste for Brazilians look like a love affair. I hope Spain ****ing murder them.

Completely agree on transfers. And while Saliba coming home on a stretcher is bad, I don't think we shpuld do anything about it. Give Mosquera a run, and if Timber and White are fit I think we can cope.

I don't buy into the Argie hate. Wish England played like despicable c**ts maybe we'd actually win something. I love how the Argies fight like mad. Love how when Messi gets clattered they all storm in ready to kick off. Messi is just sensational I feel so blessed to watch him. After a poor first half and going down 1-0 he was like "f**k this" took total control of the game was literally asking to be given the ball every moment and was appearing on the left on the right just completely dictating everything. Unreal. I will be hoping they win in the final because I'm bored of everyone saying they are bought out by FIFA. They are a bloody good team. Spanish people are c**ts I don't think I've met a single nice Spanish man in my life... And Argentinian girls are mega hot as well so there's that

And i am delighted that i will never have to watch Messi again. I can't stand him. And it pisses me off having to constantly hear them bleat on about him being better than Maradona. He isn't.

Messi didnt take control of the game, we gave it to him. Which is madness, because he is a genius. .

As for them being ****s. There is a line. They are way over it. Last night England needed a few Ben Whites to really get under their skin.

And they can **** right off about the Falklands. That is way over the line and any other team woudl face a huge punishment for that. Expect total silence from FIFA.

Give me a f**king break Messi absolutely is miles better than Maradona tired of that nostalgia nonsense.

You're being Bunnell again, Bunnell. There is a good argument that Messi is better than Maradonna. There is no valid argument whatsoever that he is miles better. Maradonna was a genius, but he was also, like most Argie footballers, a cheat.

I love Messi, he's one of the few Argies that the cheat label does not apply to. The kickings he routinely took in his prime were ridiculous, and he just got on with it. He also played in superb teams on superb pitches when referees brought the cards out quickly. Maradonna did not have those benefits.

As for Argies, they are cheats and cowards. Kicking or slapping an opponent from behind and then flinging yourself to the ground, grabbing your face and rolling around in fake agony if your opponent retaliates is not a sign of commitment or bravery or passion or being clever.

It is the action of a cowardly, cheating c*nt of the highest order, and the Argie team is full of players like that. I never want to see one in an Arsenal shirt, not ever.

Messi is the greatest to ever play the game. Past the peak of his powers now but still a force.

When arguing the greatest player ever - an argument which mostly strikes me as pointless - longevity must enter into it.

For me the argument comes down to Pele and Messi. Personally, I'd lean towards Pele, I think he changed the game more than Messi did.

No nostalgia here. I hated Maradona. But he was the most incredible talent. And he didnt sit in the best club side in the world all his career racking up goals. He won things almost on his own at times.

Generational comparisons are difficult to make but I know what i saw with Maradona. Totally and utterly unplayable.

Anyway, neither were as good as Maldini
