Alvares is better and younger than LT and the same accounts for Bruno compared to CN....would also give Rice a breather after the WC....get it done please , Berta

I really dislike that Bruno and it would be difficult to accept him at Arsenal. I also think he would be a walking yellow card for us and I dont actually think he is all that. And Newcastle will do everything they can to avoid selling to us which means a long saga that only ends if we overpay.

As for Alvarez....the money is ridiculous. i cant believe we are willing to blow that much on him.

So, not overly confident in either of these. But then I am often wrong

Bruno might not be the most likable guy now, but you will love him when he helps us to a CL win in an Arsenal shirt....the money for Alvares is crazy, but I can see a swap + cash coming up...maybe someone like Nwaneri or Ben White could be included in the deal...hell, even Martinelli...even though I'd like to keep him

Feel very sorry for Ben White, stupid injury has cost him an almost certain start or 2 at the World Cup.

What I'd like most is for Rice and Saka (two of the champions) to be fit for the start of the season, sadly it's unlikely.

I'd be shocked and disappointed if we paid the money being asked for Alvarez. When I've seen the Argies play this tournament you barely knew he was on the pitch, same at Atletico in the CL. He scores the odd worldie apparently but that's not worth 130mil or whatever.

I like the Nog left side attacker, Nusa, raw but incredible athleticism and skills. Not sure about the Morocco midfielder anymore, Bouaddi. He looked distinctly average and was substituted early in his last two games. Only 18 of course but we want to win the league again, now.

I think it's going to be a conservative window despite all the big talk. Historically we tend to wind our necks in a bit after a league win.

Back to back titles isn't really our thing. Too showy.

Add in the fact that Villa have sold so many players that they'll demand silly money for Rogers {like NU for Isak} and I'm starting to get worried.

Doubled the transfer record for IWWW after the '91 win - though that was a few games into the season.

I'd be happy if we just bought a 200m Wrighty.

Didn't we buy Gilby after winning the league in '02? He played every minute as Brazil won the WC. What a player, what a signing.

'04, we'd spunked the money on JAR in Jan but still bought RVP in the summer.

Can that Morgan Rogers play on the left? Why did I think he was more a no.10? Basically, a world class LW is what we need. And maybe another MF if Jeez goes and MnM is gonna be a false 9 as well as a box-2-box MF as needed.

Agree with Alvarez. Only watched him in the two CL games but if I had to choose one of Vik or him based on those two games it wouldn't be the Argie.

Odin was getting back to his old self with the Nogies so I agree with you. Fully fit and firing B, Rice and Odin are far more enticing than anything we could realistically buy on the market.

I just want a left sided winger/midfielder- doesn't even have to be world class - a decent one will do. I'll admit to not having the foggiest as to what kind of player Rogers is - other than prohibitively expensive.

RVP was bought for a pittance - even by the standards of the day. 2.5 mil or something like that? Best of luck getting that value for money now....

Edit: Getting Wrighty in that late kiled our chances in Europe. That Benfica side was serious.

We never chased it like Daglish or Ferguson. Red nose went fkn nuclear with transfer fees after our 98 title win. Left a glorious train wreck behind him as well. Bless him.

We mustn't think of it as a sum of money. Instead, it is merely an abstract financial climate. One does not argue with the weather, one simply puts up an umbrella.

If Mikel wants Alvarez and Rogers, then he must have them. I think Bukayo is saying Rogers is already ours anyway.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

That would be incredible. Tzolis is all but done too - he'll be a Trossard replacement.

Alvarez I think is one of the most exciting players in world football and so suited to the PL. He was superb at City and has improved since then too. Real Madrid don't slap 130mill on the table for dross. Seems like we may be able to get him for a smidge over 100m.

I don't want Leo to leave. We signed him that Jan when the Chavs gazumped us on the Ukrainian - seems we dodged a bullet there - when we found ourselves unexpectedly in a title challenge. The fact that he won us the league {as well as getting us so close in the CL} suggests that was 30 mil very well spent.

But I love Leo dancing on the sands. In his first full season, with Dec and Kai moving up top after Dubai, we'd have w but on the league had we not lost to Villa but beaten them instead. We were playing superb football and Leo scored 17 goals from LW in his first full season, same as Anders and Marcy Overmars when they won us the title in their first seasons.

That's what I want. A LW who'll score 17 {or more} goals and win us the title. Swedish, Cloggy, Brummie, Bubble, Froggy, don't care. Just won who bangs in loads of goals and wins us the title.

Thing is that in the final month or two, I saw Leo and Ricky C combine superbly together down the left, something we hadn't had before. And I just think that if chasing a win in a hard match, where we've started with Hinchappy for defensive security, Ricky C and Leo can beat people together on the left.

We paid 30 mil, got one title in 3.5 seasons and will get a good chunk of the money back, so can't complain.

It's just I'd rather keep him.
