I was more of a Labatt's man back home.

And Budweiser suffers from the American link. If we did blind taste testing of lagers I am convinced Bud would come out on top or close to it.

And yes, I like Coors as well

"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

          Nope

When I arrived in London in 95 if you walked into a pub in the City half the people were drinking bottles of Bud. Think Budweiser was throwing cheap beer into the market and it was everywhere.

I don't recall many of them complaining. A good, sound lager, I'd take it over Heinneken any day, I.

          And yes, I'm being serious.

Quite frankly, I preferred your assertion that Sgt Pepper is ****e

Budwieser????? Greatest weapon of the temperance movement. I know alcoholics who wont touch it.

Carling is arguably worse. Utter piss.

I'd go home. I'm not sitting in a pub and not drinking. It's like sitting on a plane that never takes off.

Fosters when I don't really want to drink beer. Madri is one of many lagers that it drinkable but only just, and never worth the money.

Carling is probably the worst lager in the world, followed closely by Carlsberg. Heinekken not far off either.

But in fairness to lager, it should also be pointed out that there are some real ales that are so bad that they make Carling seem drinkable. At the same time, of course, some real ales are sublimely good.

I like my lager to be just middle of the road, nothing too extreme, just slightly malty, slightly bitter, slightly sweet and extremely refreshing. These craft lagers are often too perfumy for me.

Zywiec. Now that is a lager. Put me in hospital one weekend in krakow

Agree on your worst. But I am sure Heineken used to be half decent when I was a kid.
