Agree on your worst. But I am sure Heineken used to be half decent when I was a kid.
Heineken used to sell a piss weak 3.4% version in the UK and the standard 5% stuff was sold here as Export.

Thankfully, they did away with the weak UK only stuff and it is now one of the few lagers that haven't reduced the alcohol content to pay less in duties.

Stella Artois was a fantastic drink at 5.2%. It Is now a pitiful 4.6% and is piss-like.

The Belgian brewed stuff is still a great drink.
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

To my huge surprise, the local lager in Sri Lanka was excellent. Lion.

Did the same to Kronenbourg 1664 - Still my favourite pub order, "Pint of numbers please, barkeep"

Madri is shirley the old Carling Black Label recipe, no?

A fantastic, if not somewhat agressive, marketing campaign has somehow hoodwinked the UK drinker that this is a decent beer.

            Agreed.

3 Coins not too bad as the alternative, iirc.

Peroni is surely the larger drinker's go-to beer? Superb stuff.

iirc, 1664 was 6.4% in France, back in the day...

I didn't try that one. Didn't drink much beyond the Hilton.

I like Kronenbourg, solid lager, very drinkable.

And ordered in Paris as 'pint de seize SVP'

                    seize = 16 for the non-French speakers

I do like a drop of the Nastro Azzurro but their Gran Riserva is even better. Difficult to find on draught, mind.

Is that the one in the red-labeled bottles? Had it at a couple of BBQs this summer. Eccellente.

They have got a black label, I believe.

                          Unless they've recently rebranded.

6,6% vol Its characteristic spicy aroma is obtained through extended mashing at low temperatures and the use of special caramelized malts. This bock is an intense beer, with aromas of cereals and spices, and a delicate fruity aftertaste that makes it balanced and not overpowering. The recipe uses 100% Italian bronze malt and no unmalted cereals.

5,2% vol One of the more easy-drinking beers in its category thanks to its lightness, even though it has unusual aromatic complexity with notes of malt and caramel. This result is obtained by using a production process that still preserves the practice of blending three types of wort: a traditional, time-consuming method which has almost fallen into disuse. The exclusive long, complex fermentation process at low temperatures gives it a soft, unique taste that makes it stand out among other red beers.

5,1% vol Peroni Gran Riserva Bianca is a Weiss beer with a fresh taste, pleasantly drinkable, characterized by fruity and spicy aromas. The selected high-fermentation yeast and the traditional production process give it a pleasant hint of cloves. According to tradition, the recipe uses barley and wheat malt. In order to guarantee a high-quality product we use only 100% Italian malt and a special variety of light Italian malt which gives it the elegant cloudy blond colour typical of Weiss beers.

Who knew? I'll have to find the bottom two to try

Had a look in the local Tesco last night, no success.

                            But I did see...

Double Diamond - back from the dead

                            Bought 4 cans.

                            Avoid.

                              For once, I agree

Perfectly presentable lager. I bought some for a train journey to Liverpool recently (as the shop had **** all else) and my mate was not happy. He hates it.

Each to their own, I suppose

1664 - another one down to 4.6% in the UK.

I'm sure we are being nanny-stated via taxes, tariffs and excise duties.
