That Easy goal vs the Geordies was sublime.Originally posted by Peter View PostWe have changed our corner routines significantly. Not really sure why.
Can't remember which player it was but one of them said that Easy's the best at scoring from the edge of the box so it's about giving the ball to him in those areas.
We're starting to see the best of Easy and Vik now, which is perfect timing.

Yup. Btw, was just looking at the NUFC highlights from 2-3 weeks ago where Easy scored from the short corner routine and GabbyGol had an overhead kick saved.Originally posted by Peter View PostYes, i think that one was eventually given to him. I think it went in off the keeper but was going in before the keeper touched it.
Has any Arsenal player ever scored an overhead kick? I mean a classic one, not Olly G's mindbending scorpion kick.
I remember Tony Woodcock scoring a horizontal scissors kick. We'd just got our first VHS and it had frame advance when it was paused. I'd recorded MotD and watch that goal frame by frame myriad times. But I can't remember an overhead kick.

Covid times. Nobody saw it.

That was Hleb. I remember him in an interview saying "My teammates do ask me why I pass it to them as opposed to shoot."Originally posted by Herbert Augustus Chapman View PostCertainly not during Wenger's reign. Noni's scored one corner and almost got a couple more. He's rather good at that. Wonder if he can take a FK?
Dec got 2 against RM but we haven't come close since.

Cheers, Chief. Forgotten about that totally, even though there was a rare {but well taken} KT3 goal.Originally posted by Chief Arrowhead View Post

Technically yes, that is an overhead kick, but a pretty damn lame one having allowed the ball to bounce on the ground before him. My QPR mate never tires of reminding me of this overhead kick which belongs in the very highest constellation of this goal type and is easily as good as anything Cry Baby Ronaldo ever producedOriginally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostCheers, Chief. Easy's scored some aesthetically pleasing goals. Think one of his is the only volley we've scored for a while. My faves are RvP and Eduardo's one with the outside heel of the left boot. I was there for that.

That was the goal that led Myles Palmer to declare Eduardo was an incarnation of Jimmy Greaves. Then he was brutalised and broken - by that indelible streak of c untishness that runs through English football to this dayOriginally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostYeah, that's a pwoppa won.
