Not sure what we do with Madueke.

he's very confusing, one second he looks amazing, next he's so erratic to the point where he looks like he will injure himself with all his twisting and turning.

Glad him pulling out of that challenge didn't come back to haunt him the other day.

He's got seven goals in a team whose forward line has been well below par all season. He has that spark of magic. He gets into the box with trickery and then cuts back from the by-line.

    Hopefully our one-eyed, three-legged donkey will get cosmically in choon with him and bang in shedloads when they're playing together {as well as banging in shedloads when playing with others.}

For me, he has two main issues- first, his judgement and decision making is poor, or at least very inconsistent.

Second, his technique and touch is not quite good enough for his pace. This is why you seem him burst past his defender and then run out of space.

You can improve his decision making and tactical awareness. There are limits to how much you can improve his technique.

I think he's a 20 million quid player. Fulham bound.

      I hope I am wrong.

I like the way he skins the man and gets into the box by the byline and cuts it back. He's also good at taking corners, not much worse than B.

Previously we had Raheem Sterling and Reiss Nelson {who I'd still like to see come good.} It's just a question of what we do with Max. The fact that him and B could both play inside right or ten/RW is a Godsend, but we already have Odin, Easy and Kai who can play no.10.

Madueke bottling that challenge the other night was unforgiveable in my book, have been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt with regard to his general usefulness to us but that was inexcusable. Expect and hope Dec and Gabby gave him what for after the game so there won't be a repeat.

Eze confuses me. I keep hearing what a fabulous footballer he is but I'm struggling to see it so far in terms of end product.

As you know, I wish we'd kept Ethan and played him more. Next season, hopefully.

He got 9 goals in 37 games in all comps last season, Noni has7 in 40 with 3 in 9 in the CL compared to Ethan's 2 in 7.

League goals, Ethan 4 in 26, Noni 2 in 24.

In short, Ethan did a little better.

When with B, Ethan and the young doctor it's a pity that none can play on the left. I guess MA wanted Noni's experience. There's still time for Noni to make himself an all-time Arsenal legend this season. Ganpati willing, he will do.

Also important to add that nwaneri was 17/18 when he did that, and playing his first senior games. Madueke is 24, has been playing senior football for 7 years and has had two years in the Premier League.

We went for experience, and perhaps he was felt to be a more reliable option for this year. That's ok, but my original objection- it is a lot of money for short term cover in one position.

Various things could block Nwaneri's progress at Arsenal. If Madueke wants to be one of those things he had better work seriously hard on his game. Because it really isnt there at the moment.

As with the original post, I dont want to be negative. I just really dont see a top player in there. I really do want to be wrong.

What you are missing is that Madueke has the X-Factor. Ingredients to his game that cannot be taught - his explosivity and ability to skin a man one on one is unmatched in our squad.

I read a piece when we signed him saying how raw Madueke is and comparing him to Leroy Sane. Sane himself has credited Mikel Arteta for the work that he did with him at City to turn him into the player he is.

My money is that Arteta would like to re-create that with Noni. Whether he can or not remains to be seen but at 60mill if it goes wrong we can recoup at least half of that (more I would hope). If it goes well then it's a huge upside.

He's still young - two more seasons and see where he is. But output this season for both Arsenal and England has been strong enough.

Exactly. That's why I like him.

If it comes good for him, it'll come really good. He's scored great distance shots for us and England this season, and he can hit a corner pretty much like B and Dec. He can skin players. In short he has the ingredients.

He's not young, or raw. He's 24. He's played 200 senior games. Yet after 40 games for us he still has to be shown who his man is when we drop to low block.

Walcott had the x factor. He could finish, he had amazing balance. He also had the same problem as Madueke- as good as his touch was, it wasnt good enough to cope with his speed.

An x factor is not enough. And there is literally nothing that he does that is unmatched in our squad apart from the frequency with which he runs the ball straight out of play.

But, as I say. I really, really want to be wrong.

Respectfully; I disagree. Walcott could run fast and finish. Madueke has that but also had superb technical dribbling skills and ball striking skills.

He literally has all of the raw ingredients you?d want in a winger. Just as Sane did.

Let Arteta see what he can do with him. Could be special.

OK. Well, I dont see Arteta giving up on him so I'll give him another chance next season.

But of course, he has a ceiling at Arsenal. Unless you think he is going to reach a level where he can actually compete with Saka.

Noni delivers a wonderfully spiteful corner and does it consistently. I predict he will score from a corner very soon. Even Declan (peace be upon him ) has been lofting his corners over and past the area lately.

Right, having criticised Rice I'm off for the day before that big lummox WES comes gallumphing along at starts bellowing like a demented moose.

We have changed our corner routines significantly. Not really sure why.
