"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

The Tele and others destroying England for their innings, might have been an idea to wait and see how the Crims batted on the wicket before launching into them

I watched a but of the first innings. Thought the pitch looked fine. Not sure what is going on.

But it is interesting..... and i said it wouldn't be.

Just got a bit excited, I suppose.

            Superb recovery though. Interesting indeed.

It's a contest. Can't ask for more than that.

                No. No, we can't.

But in other news: "He is probably not available for tomorrow for sure, Barcelona for sure or Arsenal for sure. Unfortunately, he had an accident at home where he hit his toe. It is nothing important, but he won't be back in the next week."

                lol

Approximate road map from here is:

                  - Snaffle final wicket in the first 5 overs tomorrow.
                  - Score 300 to set them 340 to win.

                  Sunday:

                  - Bowl them out for 200.

Right. I always say that but nobody ever listens.

I didn't think the pitch was bad at all, mind. Perhaps a bit of variable bounce but nothing untoward.

Can't we sometimes just say 'well bowled'?

It's a real opportunity, for sure.

That sort of even-handedness depends on whether you're batting or bowling, I think

Agree on the pitch. Fair bit of bounce and that seemed to trouble everyone. But otherwise it looked ok.

It will be about which batsmen can adjust their game for the second innings.

As a group, we have outbowled them on day one.

It's a rarity to see a pitch that offers something for both bat & ball. So often we see lifeless strips rolled out to take games to day 5.

I find it quite exhilarating watching top bowlers on a decent pitch. Ball fizzing past the outside edge. A batter should always have to work hard for their runs.
