With Martinelli that is now 6 forward players injured, including Odegaard.

We are back where we last season. Merino up front and only a couple of kids as cover across the attacking positions.

Quite incredible given that we signed 3 attacking players this summer.

    Dear God, that's a joke.

Vik, Kai and Jeez all gone.

Leo can't play CF if Gabby's out.

    Easy can't play false 9 if Odin's out. {Ethan and Easy as an interchanging 9/10?????}

We've just got to pray to the Remover of Obstacles and the God of Good Luck and Fortune that we can beat Slavia Prague and whoever we have this weekend and that after the intl. break, we get Odin, Kai, Gabby and Noni back fully fit and firing.

If they all come back for the Sperz game, then we'd only have Vik and Jeez out.

But Vik has been getting better with every game. And the first half against Burnley was the player we hoped we'd signed. Then he gats injured.

Odin seemed to have lost his mojo, but he was great when he came on vs the Geordies and turned the game around and then played his best match in ages and then got injured.

    Bit like Jeez last year.

Please Lord, let's not have our season derailed by injuries again.

We are at Sunderland. I'm watching them right now. They are lively and dear old Granit Xhaka is having a blinder, and found time to tell Grealish to **** off.

After that is the international break, which for once is handy. Arteta is hoping that Havertz, Madueke and Odegaard will all be back after that. Which will ease things hugely.

We just have to get through this week.

Surely we just wanted to give him the week off without saying anything; back for Sunderland.

Weren't the centre backs supposed to miss matches recently too, only to turn out after all.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I'm watching them too; no idea how they're doing so well. We'll find out, I suppose

There is so much space there. Would be lovely if Martinelli was fit.....

Arteta's responses are a bit worrying. Doesn't sound good.

Zubimendi is fit. That is a big plus

Eze up front (Nwaneri as a 10) or Merino just comes in for Gyokeres. Easy.

The latter. It may be easy, but it isn't good. But hopefully, it isn't for long. Just need to limp (literally) through this week and then hopefully the situation improves after the break.

                    We have Harriman Annous anyway.

I suspect he will make the bench and then come on when we are 4-0 up

It?s not just the injuries, it?s the months out it takes to recover. Jesus could have grown a new leg via stem cell implants in the time he?s had out. Havertz, nor too far behind him.

And then the pre-supper dip will score a hat-trick. Would like to see Triphop and Hinchappy score soon, too. Let's go for the record of the most different scorers in a season.

Yes, this is an important point. The club seem to be putting that on the players failing to report even suspected trouble soon enough and preferring to soldier on in silence until the damage is really bad. I seem to recall reading a missive somewhere about that sort of behaviour being now outlawed as the situation has become ridiculous.

Hence my wishful belief that Gyokeres at least will be fine for Sunderland

The Athletic saying both Gyokeres and Martinelli out until after the International break
