No word, but must be. He was having a great game. Hopefully just a precaution.

We could do without yet another injured forward.

Could be something to do with his hairstyle falling out of shape ? The boy?s built like a barn door, so I?d doubt it?s an injury.

"He felt something muscular so we have to wait to learn the extent of that."

              He's fine, I think.

"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

                  Yeah, famous last words.

Paul Mariner, he reminds me of. Smart player.

He was very good today. You can see where his areas of strength are starting to show.

He's a little heavy on his feet but I guess that is part of the role.

I never saw Marriner or Woodcock live. How did they compare? We were so rarely on tv then. I did use our new, first VHS to record a MotD when Tony scored this sort of sideways scissor kick volley. The VCR had frame advance so I could watch it again and again in the world's slowest slomo.

What else did they do? Didn't one of them score 4 in a game? I don't remember much between Sunderland and Stapleton and Champagne Charlie and Niall Quinn.

Woodcock was a decent player with us, as I recall. Mariner was a bit past it.

I loved Quinny. But Alan Smith was just too good to compete with.
