although it could have occurred to me during many matches.

'Same old *whoever*, always cheating' is without question that most retarded football chant ever.

If you have ever sung it, even once, you are a c*nt. Fact.

    Couldn't agree more.......

Although I always thought 'you're going home in a ****ing ambulance' was pretty stupid. Why would an ambulance take you home?

I don't think our people ever get to sing that, because obviously we're always cheating.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Every team 'cheats'. We are not the Corinthian Casuals. Stealing yards at a throw in is cheating.

One day, I would love to see a goal disallowed by VAR because the move began with a foul throw

No, you wouldn't. You know it would be us.

Of course it would be us. But the absurd justifications as to why a rule that has been ignored for decades has suddenly been randomly imposed on us will be entertaining

Note the delaying restarts things has gone

Not seen a single keeper pinged for the 8 second thing yet. Donnarumma against us clearly did it at least twice.

They had a ten second thing around the turn of the century. I took my Chav mate to a game at Highbury vs Villa and we got a FK in the box from which Sukur scored. Every time after that their 'keeper got the ball, the whole crowd were chanting "10, 9, 8" etc.

Btw, what happened to indirect FKs? When I were a lad, you used to have loads of those where one player would nudge it sideways for another to hit from the edge of the box.

But now they all seem to be direct FKs.

Do indirect FKs even exist any more?

I believe they only exist for non-penalty infringements inside the box. Pass back to the keeper and he picks the ball up

When did this change? When did they get rid of normal indirect FKs? Dunno if I ever understood why some were direct and some weren't.

There was a very famous one at Anfield once

Every restart following an offside is an indirect free-kick. When the Forest guy simulated injury against Sunderland last week the ref blew, booked him and awarded an indirect free-kick which led to Sunderland scoring the only goal of the game (GX took the fk, some other guy nodded it in). If a ref stopped a game to book someone for dissent that would also restart with an indirect free-kick.

Thank you. But then how did there used to be indirect FKs around the box?

'Obstruction' used to be an indirect free-kick but anything now with any form of contact is deemed a direct free-kick so maybe it was that. Or maybe refs can no longer be *rsed to put their arm up to signal an indirect free-kick so just award a direct one.

That would make sense. Would explain it all. Thank God we don't have VAR taking five mins to work out if it's direct or indirect.
