    I think that's sort of what I'm saying. Injuries made him realise he can swap FBs without disrupting the team. {Though I still don't think JT overlaps on the right as much as BW.}

    Kiwior coming in and doing well made him realise he could also rest Big Willy, hence the Trip-Hop signing.

    Zubi and Dec can cover for each other if we drop the double pivot and go 1 DM, 2 No.10s. And MnM could play in that role, too. He's played there with Zubi {and with Odin one year on loan?}

    A fit Kai would be covering with Vik. Gabby and Leo swapped games anyway, before Noni came and before we think about Eze. And hopefully Ethan will prove Odin can have a break.

    I could be wrong but I think last season's injuries showed him that rotation works when you have players you trust {like the spare FBs} or learned to trust {like Yakob.}

    That's why we've bought so many players when we thought it would just be Wigwam's replacement, a striker and a cheap, spare 'keeper.
    I hope so, although it isn't the same thing. Injuries force changes to the side and not necessarily when you want them (e.g. there is no way Saka doesn't start at Anfield if he is fit) and how you want them.

    We are talking about the courage to rest Saka, or Saliba, and accept the blame if it goes wrong. Very different thing. And with rotation you are making decisions that balance the side for that particular game. The key is minor change here and there, rather than being without 5 of your starting elevent for a game.

    He certainly has a deeper squad now but at this point his cover at centre back and central midfield is no better than it was last season. It is pretty much the same, bar Norgaard for Jorginho. And the new Spanish defender.

      If Ricky C stays fit, he can cover LCH with MLS at LB. If we get the new guy, even better. And Trip-Hop covers Big willy better than a permacrocked Tomi.

      Zubi gives us more options/permutations than WigWam did {excluding RB} and I also think MnM having played with Zubi means he could cover for Dec in the double pivot better than last year. That's before we think of Eze there.

      I think we'll see than MnM will be useful - esp if he gets games under his belt. Yakob looked much better with a run, as did MnM even though it was up top. FFS we played Real home and away with Yakob at CH and MnM as out CF and the only goal they scored was Big Willy giving them a gift.

      MnM's tall, good in the air, wins duels, tackles and now we know he knows where the goal is. Lovely assist from him pre-season.

      I hope we'll rotate more this year from choice, not from injuries.

      Noni came off the bench in our first game. Started on the left in the next before moving to the right when B went off. {And looked better there.} That means we go to Anfield with him at least having played with the team. MA could have started Gabby or Leo.

      Basically, us spending so much cash only makes sense if he's going to rotate and wants 2 players in every position. So we buy that now and in future windows we only have to replace people getting to the end of their contracts. It's basically a gamble, but as I say if we're not gonna rotate, why buy Trip-Hop? Why upgrade Yakob? Why buy Noni when we had Leo and Ethan as 2nd choice wingers?

      I hope this means quality rotation incoming. And Ganpati willing, an end to these sodding injuries.

        All we need now is a Saudi club to pay 45 million for Zinchenko
