He actually looked as good as anyone until he was fouled. Though young Ethan did well when he came on.

But 2 games in and we've lost Kai, Odin and B. Our three most creative players over the last couple of years. And there was me hoping all our injuries had happened last year.

      And Ben White, it seems.

Having to go to Anfield without those four is ****ing annoying. And we don't know how long they'll be out for.

Big decision for Arteta now. Does he trust Nwaneri to start centrally at Anfield.....

I think he does. But The Times now saying neither Odin nor B's injuries as bad as first feared.

But yes, I think MA clearly thinks that if, God forbid, Odin had an injury that keeps him out for a while, then Ethan plays in his place, like Noni covers B. Eze gives us more options but Ethan looked fine there yesterday.

          Gabriel Jesus is back.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I think Anfield is too early for Eze. So it is Nwaneri or Trossard. 50/50 I'd say.....

Good news re Saka and Odegaard but can't see them being available for Anfield.

I thought Nwaneri did more to impress me in 60min then Ode had in the previous 120min. He still tends to run himself into trouble too often but I was impressed with his midfield play more than I have been in the past. I have no concern whatsoever about him replacing Ode at Anfield given how bad Ode has been recently.

Saka is a shame but we have more options this year. Calafiori worries me up there against Salah. He'll need help so Martinelli back in the team would not surprise me.

              Rice Zubi Nwaneri
              Madueke Gyokeres Martinelli

              would be my guess...

I'd go with MLS against Salah, and agree re Martinelli. I think he'll play for his defensive work. An area where Madueke has yet to convince.....

I agree that Ethan did loads. His deflected shot led to the corner from which JT scored his second. And when you say he runs himself into trouble, he did it in the first half and was tackled but had taken 3 players out of the game. Zubi and Dec won it straight back and gave it to JT in space who played it perfectly for B's goal.

So he had a hand in two goals. Not scoring or assists, but we wouldn't have got them without what he did.

Basically, we're spoiled at the mo. If we didn't have B playing at a totally world class level in the no.7 shirt, didn't have MLS already playing for England at 18, and Max now making his debut, we'd all be totally invested in our 18 year old Ethan, who scored 9 goals in half a season last year, as being the 2nd coming of Chippy or Rocky.

I can't believe we don't trust MA on this when he's made the route to the first team as Odin's cover. You really think he'd throw out Fabio and spend 50 mil on Noni for a different position if he didn't think he could cover a serious Odin injury this season?

We're so spoiled. At any other point in our history we'd be clamouring for him to play. Like when JW came through. It's like when people shrugged about Andy Cole cos we already had Merse and Super Kev from the yoof team, and IWWW and Smudger to boot. I checked the Bristol scores every week and I just new he'd make it at the top level. Scoring that many goals at that age.

And Ethan's 3 years younger and doing it in the top flight and Europe already.

Look, I know we all have our private gripes. Rich hates Gabby, WES still hates Rambo even though he's gone.

But can we all stop behaving like spoilt brats when it comes to Ethan, please? We should all be singing his praises.

It isn't a question of trusting Arteta and with the greatest of respect, he hasn't left the route open. He's just signed Eze.......

Nwaneri looked fantastic out wide last season. At this point, I'm not convinced he is ready to play that central role at Anfield.

I do agree he looked great out wide last year. But I think Eze is more likely to play LW cutting inside with an overlapping, not inverted LB, or in the L8 role when we're chasing the game. I expect Ethan to start and Eze to come off the bench. Vik is still learning how to play with our team, Eze will do too. Ethan has played with all our team.

Eze likes to cut in on his right so will play the other side. I think what MA has done makes sense.

I agree that will be the primary aim with Eze but you cannot deny his obvious and proven ability in the central role. He will play there at some point this season.

It's good fun and everything but there's no good trying to guess what we'll do. That's the whole point; we want to be unpredictable.
