I'm looking mostly at you Pedro

Two years ago we bought Havertz and many of you were unconvinced. Halfway through his first season he was called a lanky streak of piss and routinely slaughtered on here.

After a good finish to his first season he was more broadly accepted but still criticised whenever he under-performed.

Then we finally bought the striker everyone has been crying out for and it was mostly accepted that Havertz would no longer be in the first 11 if VG was fit.

Now he's been injured and there's 5 pages of hand wringing and doom mongering leading to the conclusion that if our second choice striker, who is one of 25 players in the first team squad, is out for the season we are completely f*cked.

    Honestly lads, have a word

I never accepted he wouldn't be in the first eleven. I never called him our second choice striker. I never pushed the club to sign a striker. So you can throw that at others, but not at me.

If he is out for the season, we are pretty ****ed.

And yes, after a season of constant injuries, there probably has been a slight overreaction

    But, understandable....

I?m hugely greatful to the lanky streak of p155. Without that knock, there?s no way we?re signing Eze.

There was talk of expired release clause dates and all sorts of complex shenanigans and terms that needed to be met in order to get the best price; all independent of Kai's unfortunate yet well-timed injury. That's why Crystal Palace stalled until now, knowing we wanted him and he only wanted to come to us.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Or why Eze stalled. He's better than Spurs and he knows it.
