    No way. No chance.

Disagree. He's the cover for Odin. He may be tried elsewhere but that's his main place in the squad atm. Eze can play L8, LW or false 9. He won't play right 8 cos his big thing is cutting inside from the left onto his right boot.

I think it will be fine.
This is the issue I mentioned last week. If odegaard gets injured this weekend, and we have to go to anfield without him, who do you pick? You'd pick Nwaneri ahead of Eze?

At this moment (well, once he has settled in) Eze is the stronger option in that central role. It is undeniable.

Could well have been that. But I do remember both - suddenly thought the Palace had a couple of tasty players and they both looked like saff London lads with funky hairdos. I'd have happily taken either as squad players if it didn't break the bank and stop us signing someone we really needed. But had I had to choose I'd have taken Eze.

NB - remember I only watched our games so perhaps the other lad was better the other 36 games a season. And maybe they were both much of a muchness and I liked Eze better cos he had a better hairdo.
The other one was left footed.....

Yes. I do. We already know that ET can play there. He likes to come in onto his left, like B, though is more two footed. He's played RW and worked with the team. Start with him.

Bring Eze off the bench for false 9, l8 or LW. Throw of the dice.

But Eze doesn't know how we play yet. ET already knows how B plays, how our RB overlaps and interacts etc.

If Kai hadn't got injured, we wouldn't have got Eze. If we'd had a 35m bid for Fabio, he'd be gone.

All this implies that if Odin got injured in the first game and was out for 2-3 months, he trusts ET to play there. He wouldn't get away with a second season of "I spent tons but it was Odin's injury why we didn't compete."

ET also looked good in the pre-season friendlies.

We have to trust MA. He's ruthless. If ET wasn't good enough, we wouldn't have cleared out Fab and ESR, wouldn't have given him a new 5 year deal etc.

I know Odin wasn't great last year, but ET out scored {in total and per game} in the league last year and overall last year.

          He got assists too.

Maybe he hasn't proved he can lead the press as well yes, but MA wouldn't take this gamble. We'd have signed someone and loaned him out like we did with Saliba.

Let's come back to this discussion in the Jan window and the end of the season.

And significantly taller and heavier too. Plus much younger, as noted. It all makes sense.

We could keep everyone, but a small group of them are way below the required level. Lokonga, Vieira, Nelson, Zinchenko. They are no use to us. That over 300 grand a week we shouldn't be paying.

Zinchenko perhaps has some value from a phychological perspective. He's won the lot, captain of his country etc. Probably a good guy to have around the team.

Nelson would be useful if he could stay fit. But he can't so sell/loan.

Lokonga we may have to terminate his contract. Have never liked him since the Amazon documentary when he was moaning about not playing. Nketiah (iirc) put him in his place pretty sharpish.

Apparently we can afford it (!). And anything and anyone that helps resist the temptation to field key first-teamers away at Stoke City in an early round of the Rumbelow's Cup has got to be a good thing?

Keep them all and let them earn their money, if they're fit
