More excited than I would otherwise be about this because of the Spurs angle and people are very excited and he seems to be quite decent nonetheless.
I remember the other attacking MF hair-do one. He was useful but in the games I watched {i.e. only against us} neither his hairdo nor footballing ability seemed better than Eze and had I been offered a choice back then, I'd have taken {Ganpati willing} our boy.

Exactly. That one never made sense, to me. And Mikel is cut from similar cloth.

I reckon we might see a loan arrival too.
We know you hate Gabby M but no. Leo got a pay rise yesterday and we'd keep Gabby over him were one going. Eze is cover for Kai in the false 9 role, and - when we have Gyok playing well and/or Kai back - an option at AM, either as cover for or with Odin. If he gets a chance on the left when everyone's fit and it works, fine.

But we didn't buy a forward last winter window and look at the fall out. Window closes and Kai injured. Had we signed no-one and Vik plays sheet or gets injured, we'd have had everyone on our backs and our world class players might have had their heads turned.

If this was gonna happen, thank Ganpati it happened before the window shuts, not just after. And thank God we have a 27-year old, PL ready, life-long Gooner to buy as the replacement for the injured star.

When everyone is fit, we have Gabby, Leo, Noni, Eze and Jeez who can play LW at EPL and CL level. So no. I really pray that Gabby proves you wrong this year. I shall expect an apology.

          Oh, fair enough then. Good.

I'd also concluded the German one must be younger, perhaps a contract issue.

VG14 unlocks everyone, imo. Including Martinelli.

Just have to be sure and remember to keep the ball now

Could well have been that. But I do remember both - suddenly thought the Palace had a couple of tasty players and they both looked like saff London lads with funky hairdos. I'd have happily taken either as squad players if it didn't break the bank and stop us signing someone we really needed. But had I had to choose I'd have taken Eze.

NB - remember I only watched our games so perhaps the other lad was better the other 36 games a season. And maybe they were both much of a muchness and I liked Eze better cos he had a better hairdo.

We now have the Here We Go from yer man on twitter. So that's in the bag

This is not necessarily about Havertz..... we may have been planning it anyway but trying to sell first. And Spurs forced our hand.

That's where you need them Spaniards. And we don't have enough. I'd like one more, ideally.

He'll play left and centre, as needed.

Someone has to leave now. I think we need to bring in a few quid. If Kiwior goes, I am going to be a bit annoyed.

Spain is Finnish; half a dozen England players in the team now

What actually happens to us if no-one leaves?

I didn't realise that was Rodrygo.

That is also why I considered the first free kick to be the better of the two...

We won't be able to register them to play in any tournaments so they will play friendly matches only.

I think he's our most saleable asset though, P. And look at it from his perspective; he deserves to be starting somewhere and also will want to ensure he's starting for Poland at the World Cup.

Realistically he'd be looking at less than 20 games for us unless one/both of Calafiori get long term injuries.

Interestingly; I see we may not be done. Us and Bayern after Malick Fofana before deadline day. Maybe it'll have to be a loan but blimey. Maybe Martinelli will get sold?

I appreciate all of that, but I am looking at it from our point of view. If we leave ourselves with just 7 defenders, we are not going to make it through the season. Ben White is already on the missing list again, it is only a matter of days before Calafiori gets injured, and one of our lads has only just arrived. He might be crap.

If selling Kiwior makes sense, fine. But he will need to be replaced.....

Martinelli is a possibility, although with Havertz out he surely comes into the discussion about who plays up front......
