  • Kenny Samson's family suspected of the Great Train Robbery. I never knew that.

    From wiki:

"Sansom's father George and uncle Terry were investigated but not charged as suspects in the Great Train Robbery. Sansom stated that he thought that they were innocent, but that his uncle Freddie, a well-known armed robber, was likely a member of the gang that committed the crime."

My mate was best mates with the son {Nick Reynolds} of the main man {Bruce Reynolds.} He {the son} plays in that Alabama 3 band.

Pwoppa days. When your LB had an armed robber for an uncle. Don't get that any more.

True. But wasn't Peter Storey a bit of a gangster? Can't see Odin getting sent down for drink driving, or getting young Ethan and going down to Southend on the lash and trashing the gaff like Big Tone and the Romford Pele did.

          Good point. Very good point.

Peter Storey may have got done for running a brothel and importing porn, but the ladies in the sauna and on the film sets all consented. That's the difference between then and now.

The rumour I had heard about TP at the time is that these were former 'girlfriends' he had moved on from who subsequently sought a different avenue to access his money.

I believe the same was true for Mendy, who was subsequently found innocent of all charges. Good point made by Martin Samuel in the Times recently effectively saying that players should keep playing unless they are found guilty.

Imagine that, the presumption of innocence actually meaning something in the modern day.

I think the accusations at Arsenal were unfair as he had not even been charged, let alone found guilty.

Once a player has been charged with a crime like that I think a club is in a very difficult position if they want him to keep playing.
