    it doesn't even feature much on the website.

    I want us to go back to the '70s, with just red and white or blue and yellow, with just a cannon on the chest.

      I want us to go back to the 70s and fill the side with young Irish players who like a drink

        TBF, the homegrown Arsenal players in the '93 FA cup final team - Big Tone, Merse, the Romford Pele - could probably out drink all six of our paddies in the '79 cup final team.

        Dunno how much Davis and Campbell could put away. {But half the outfield players were home grown which is pretty good going. O'Leary on the bench and Keown cup-tied. CWC final next year, we had 6 starters, Ray on the bench and MK injured.}

            That's true. India won. 2-2 was a fairer result than 3-1 and it was an all time great series.

            While I know what you mean, you can't blame Brook too much if he scores a ton and has a partnership that takes half of the required total.

            It's just if you have a 4 man pace attack with no spinner, do you want one of those 4 quicks injuring himself to save a sodding run?

            I'd have rather we'd give India that run and had Woakes to bowl and bat {fully fit} in the 2nd innings.

            Also, getting Bethel from playing cricket all summer and throwing him into the decider. With no Stokes, then the runs of Woakes, Overton, Atkinson and Carse should have allowed us to play a 5 man pace attack, imo. {Well, with hindsights.}

              You really shouldn't need a 5 man pace attack. Four is enough. And the Woakes incident is just unfortunate.

              My issue with Brook is just about judgement. The two shots prior to that were great. He was in total control. Then he gets carried away and tries something totally unnecessary.

              At that point, the game was won. India had all but given up. Had he tried that with 30 to get, fair enough. But it was a lapse of judgement and has cost us the game.

              However... India were excellent and 2-2 is a much fairer reflection of the series. Their bowling was far more consistent than ours and you have to take your hat off to Siraj. I thought he was an absolute prick under Kohli but his conduct is pretty much within bounds now. The effort he put in over that series was phenomenal.

              Great series, but more lessons for us. Stokes has to manage his workload better if he is going to survive an Ashes tour, and our batsmen have to keep their heads and maintain their judgement. Players like Crawley and Pope have flaws and we have to live with those. But Brook doesn't. He can dominate the bowlers in Australia if he keeps his head.

              Atkinson, Stokes, Archer and Carse might be capable of taking 20 wickets over there. Maybe.... but I suspect it will be another 4 or 5-0 hammering where we are not even competitive in the games

                Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

                  Who is the drinker in our current squad? JT, imo.
                  "Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

                  "But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

                    I think Ben White wouldn't say no to the odd glass of something.

                          I'm guessing those hookah pipe-things are quite popular amongst our squad. Throughout football generally.

                            I thought nicotine pouches were all the rage with footballers these days..?
