    This could be another great test if we get the f*cker out and their tail collapses

    Got away with putting them into bat last time, not going to this time.

      Still think a draw is most likely...

        We refuse to play for draws. We would rather lose.....

          It isnt so much about putting them in as failing to get them out. Aside from Woakes, the bowling (again) wasn't good enough.

            Still should have batted on both occasions.

              I'm not convinced it makes that much difference. We clearly prefer chasing, are obviously not intimidated by scoreboard pressure, and the pitches are not deteriorating.

              My feeling is that Bazball has done wonders for our batting. It hasn't really led to any clear strategies with our fielding as yet. Similar thing happened when we transformed our approach to the white ball game. The bowling part of it took far longer to improve.

                Pitch was flat as anything, you win the toss and you bat, unless extreme overhead conditions. Old school.

                  I completely agree with you. I get that we now think about the game differently, and are not intimidated by scoreboard pressure. But your opponents are. Bat and score 500 and they will think they can't win the game.

                    It's certainly entertaining, just think we make it far harder than it should be.

                      I think the dogma overtakes the pragmatism. The funny thing is that it makes you predictable. The toss is a waste of time. If we win it we bowl, if they win it they bat.

                      Look at the way we are batting at the moment. Smith has destroyed the bowling attack by swiping the short ball to all corners. Wonderful. But doing that on Australian pitches against Cummins or Hazlewood is a very different prospect. That is where judgement and adapting to conditions is required. And that isn't our strong suit.

                        I can see us batting through the day. No way it then ends in just two days on this wicket.

                        Draw

                          Hope I'm wrong but using the Boycott "if you wanna know the true score, add two wickets to it" and we're in serious trouble.

                            Yup. {Ten wotsits.}
