  • So which one of you wrote that piece in The Atlantic then?

"Why Don't Arsenal Look Like Champions? They have lost just once all season and won again on Sunday. So why do they look so unconvincing?"

It's alright, you can admit it here. You're amongst friends.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

If the hypothesis is 'because Gyokeres isn't playing' then I think I know who's holding the smoking gun.

It was obvious that selling 2 LWs and only signing one would see him get injured during the first intl break.

However, the plus sides are that Quantum was looking rather tasty - I think that's the best start to an Arsenal career of any forward MA's signed - and that Noni's starting to look good there. He's getting confidence and can see a route into the starting XI.

Hopefully they can be as good as Leo and Nelli. We've added Bruno and effectively MLS to MF and Ezri at the back. Ødin's getting back to his best - the problem is that B isn't despite scoring and assisting.

The worrying thing is whether Vik atm is better than Jeez atm who's scoring for Barca, does drift to the left and could play on the wing.

We wanted a 100m forward who can play wide left and didn't get any of the 3 we were linked with. That and B not being at his best hasn't helped.

We also haven't scored any set pieces and haven't looked close to doing so.

Yet despite no corners, we've won away at Villa, Sunderland and Forest where we got 2 pts from 9 last season.

And our bench is changing games.

At the start of last season, when people compared our first XI with our 2nd, the worry was MF. Dec-Zubi-Ødin became Norgy-MnM-Easy. Whereas now, most games, 2 of MLS and our WC winning duo won't even get off the bench.

Big Willy and Triphop out but Ezri's doing the biz.

We won the title and got to a CL final with Noni, Vik and Easy playing loads. We were chuffed on the upgrades on Sterling, Jeez etc. But it's the forward line that's not firing. If B's out of form, then everything going down the right with our LW isolated is an issue.

So all we need is the following:

B to get back to his best as Ødin is.
Quantum to get back from injury and keep playing well and getting even better, adding goals to his assists.
Noni to keep improving and scoring goals and making chances from the LW as well as right.
Us to start banging in the corners again.
      No more injuries.
The Doctor to get more chances and to take them.

      and we'll be fine.

To be fair, that is a very long wish list.

Why cant we just play well? At least some of the time....

I'd be happy with games like Lille. 80 mins of conservative game management with a ten minute spell in the middle where we score 3 great goals.
