Looked a lot sharper. Maybe leave him on the bench for now. A 25 minute cameo like that is worth a lot more than a 90 minute plod.

And if it is a mental issue, leaving him on the bench might help sharpen him up.

I don't wanna get all Saffer rugger "finishers" but I do like being able to bring on 3 players who up the ante against tiring legs.

LUFC fans rightly pointing out that the game changed when we bought on £180m of talent. And if you can add B, Ødin and Kaiser from the bench, you'll always have a chance, especially as the manager can't adjust. I think that's why MnM works so well from the bench for Spain.

Just like Bruno's done the most when he's come on for MLS.

We don't really have a way of going more attacking in our 4-2-3-1 like when we could bring on Skiltord for Freddie so having an upgrade or three on the bench helps.

Think it was as much getting Gyokores off the pitch as it was getting anyone else onto it.

His 2nd touch is a tackle.

It actually makes perfect sense, with the squad MA has assembled. "Starters" take the shine off the new ball; hold up an end, keep it tight. After an hour, the "finishers" come on and strike, secure the points. Everyone can get a run out and the squad stays fresh.

It's a massive luxury, being able to deploy a familiar, settled, elite three-man unit like that. We can even do it the other way about, if we want to. Or not at all, if the match is already won.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Would love to see MA start Max on the right on Sunday with Madueke on the left. Saka and Solace / Eze the finishers if required.

Gyokeres looked awful again. Think I saw him fall into the net from tripping over his own feet last night. He just looks unbalanced. I think he’ll be gone in the next window, it’s unravelling rather badly.

Quantum's not back yet, is he? Thought it was 3-4 weeks.

I like that analogy. That's what we want. A solid top 3 to get you beyond the afternoon drinks break, dead ball, tired bowlers etc then your middle order dashers come in to take the game away from them.

Or I guess more like when Bairstow and Moeen would come in a slog quick tons at 7/8.

Anyway, good to see MnM can take the shine off the new ball as well score late winners from the bench.

I really think this is the way forward. Like rugby. Bring on a whole new side of the forward line {eg B, Ødin, Kaiser} at 60 mins. Look at the combination of those 3 for the 3rd.
