  • MA has pissed me off re: GabbyGol.

    Not even on the bench.

What won us the title last year? 2 players for every position and changing all of or front 3/4 if poss during games.

Having 3 RWs and 1 LW was idiocy? What would we have done if Quantum was injured in the first minute? Played Noni or Easy there? Neither worked last season.

Why is he trying to force Gabby out when we don't have a replacement? Yes, I'd get it - but not like it, it's not the Arsenal way - if we'd signed Vini.

But we can't go into the season without a 2nd choice LW we like. The GoFs will punish us.

Anyone care to check Gabby's goals per mins in the CL last season? I think only 3/4 strikers and 1 winger were ahead of him.

We need more wingers. We don't even have a youngster. That was idiocy last night.

    I'm not happy.

You can't force an Arsenal player under contract to go to Turkey any more than you have to flog them to Real if they want to go but we don't want to sell. That's how contracts work.

So imagine Gabby goes. Who is Quantum's back up?

I hope MA doesn't see Eze as the understudy to our new Greek god, Martinelli should be retained imo.

Tried to comment on your Madueke thread but it just errors after selecting it (in two browsers). Don't know what was said on the topic but I was hugely disappointed that MA didn't bring Max on when Saka was withdrawn. Madueke has no end product. He and Eze leave a lot to be desired.

I hope Gyok stays. He could be very useful in certain types of game, gives us different options.

Tbf, the Doctor has had a full pre-season and can play yoof games like he did today. Noni has been at the WC and we need to get him up to speed. We can bring the Dr through slowly. No need to rush it.

I do wish people would stop judging Noni against Rocky or Freddie etc. He was signed as cover for B, and he won us the title.

None of Noni, Vik, East and Zubi started the CL final and we won the league. Because that depth covered the injuries to B, Ødin and Kaiser.

As I said Noni brings chaos, MA's famed unpreeedeeeectabeeeeleeeeteee. And his corner is almost as good as B's. I also think Max will end up central.

But if, after winning the title by having 2 WC players in every position, MA's strop with Gabby means we don't even have a 2nd choice LW, not even a Reiss Nelson level, I'll go mental.

What's Hubris in Basque? I hope MA hasn't caught a dose.

I imagine if Martinelli leaves (or even Jesus) we are ready to immediately pull the trigger on a deal for a replacement.

        Fingers crossed, eh.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Madueke is ****. He'll go on loan next summer and will eventually leave for nothing or a nominal fee. At 25, a player that scruffy and brainless simply doesnt transform into a top class player. It just doesnt happen. The basics of his game are just not good enough.

Is it just me that finds it a little ridiculous that we cant find a buyer outside Turkey for Martinelli while a player like Savinho is going for 75 million?

Stinks to high heaven. As do many other moves this summer. Spurs and City are up to something and they are not alone.

              No, something definitely stinks.

I agree. The only chaos he brings, GG, is to disrupt our pattern of play by having zero end product.

His end product is invariably a goal kick.

Slightly harsh, he also gives it away directly to the oppo, so there's some variety there.

But he's a black hole of possession either way, this much is clear. If I'm an accountant I'd be increasing the pace of the 50mil depreciation that's underway.

It remains the one signing of the Arteta era that I simply do not understand. After the season Nwaneri had just had in that position it made no sense to me at the time. It makes even less sense now.

You might all wanna check how that chance for MnM on Friday came about.

Or think back to LFC at home last season when we were ****. One one chance was Gabby heading wide in the final seconds. But why? Because Noni got the ball, beat a man, won a corner out of nothing and then played a perfect delivery onto Gabby's bonce at the back post. Had we smash'n'grabbed that it would have all been down to Noni.

Since B and Ødin started looking back to their best, he's been combining with them well. Timber and Easy are a totally different pol des poissons but that's what he had for most of last season.

When he gets played through on the overlap he's very good and cutting 90 degrees into the box by the goal line, beating a man and cutting the ball back.

In his first season, in a misfiring injured forward line, with other new back-up signings like Vik and Easy playing far more than intended we still won the ****ing league.

That gets him another 12 month bye in my book.

Had we come 2nd again, I might agree. But we didn't. We're ****ing champions of England and he played a major role.

You lot will be slagging off Perry Groves next even though he won us the title for the first time in 18 years.

You lot are racists. If he was white, scrawny and ginger and came from Colchester, you'd love him. Black, bandana and from Chelsea and you think he's satan. As I say, pure racism.

You've all pissed me off now. For the next 12 months, I will ceaselessly cheerlead for Noni.

And if we win the PL and/or CL I will do it again next year.

In short for as long as he wins us major trophies I will support him. Show some ****ing gratitude.

This is the flaw in your thinking. Perry Groves did NOT win us the title in 89. Madueke didnt win us it last season. Both were largely peripheral to our success. Both could have been easily replaced with superior players.

And Perry Groves didnt cost a fortune or block a hugely promising youth player.

Everything you say is true but perhaps I need to explain my working more clearly.

We are champions. Every player gave his all and deserves my undying love and respect. For one season at least.

If we don't win either of the big two this year and any of Noni, Easy, Vik etc perform poorly then yes, I will join you in calling for their heads.

But if we do win either of the big two then I will stay in love with them. It's a team sport. I wanted the statue for Norgy for the leadership role he played during the run in remember, even though he didn't kick a ball in anger.

In short, their title win gives them 12 months grace. And I pray to Ganpati that I'm having this discussion with you next season with me saying "But they've just retained us the title AND won us the CL......"

Do unto others and all that.

If I were Noni, I'd want the Gooners to give me 12 months grace given I'd just left the Chelsea and won us the title for the first time in nigh on a quarter of a century.

And imagine he improves playing with fit and firing Ødin and BW. The young doctor will still be brought through.

I take your point But the CL final did show us that there is another step forward required if we want to win the big prize, and fight off challenges in the league at home.

Madueke will get another season to prove himself and if he does, great. But we need to be ruthless in our desire to improve each year and sometimes that will mean letting people go. See Martinelli this summer. Harsh, but if there is a clear plan there then I'm ok with it. Not sure I see what that plan is at this point.
