  • It's odd that we still lack an elite striker

I can't see us as clear favourites while we struggle to score.

Forwards don't want to join us as they think they'll be charged admission to the ground like all the other spectators.

    Boom, boom.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I would say that with Jeez, Kai, MnM and Vik we've done better than at any team we've had since Bergy and Titi. Better than when we had RvP or Auba banging in 30 a season.

Maybe we just work better with false nines and a flat track bully.

Bottom line is that Kai did better in the CL final than whoever PSG had. Vik was better than Alvarez in the semi. And MnM was better than Mbappe when we played Real.

I think it suits us. Like when Rush, Barnes and Beardsley lost to Smudger and a coked-up Merse.

      We are the Arsenal remember.

A fully fit Havertz will help andd Gyokeres has now had a season to settle in. I think we'll be fine.

Still like to see Martinelli up top

Sounds like Martinelli is going to leave the club in the coming days.

It's decision day for Alvarez today by all accounts. Either stay at Athletico or join Arsenal for around EUR 120 million.

Which would presumably also mean the end of Gyokeres' Arsenal career - Especially as Arteta (and me) don't seem to rate him in the slightest.

But he still won us the title.

Obviously, if he signs i will take this back but....Alvarez can **** right off imo. Overpriced, overrated and a bloody Argie.

I don't want him and we dont need him.

And I will repeat what I said all last season- our lack of goals is not due to a lack of strikers. Bruno (as much as i dislike him) and MLS can have a bigger effect on our goal threat than any world class striker.

Now we want tow in the champions league. As close as we came, we hace to accept that we were completely outplayed in the final.

Our use and retention of the ball has to improve if we are going to take the next step.

We simply need to arrive in the latter stages in comparative physical shape to whichever flat-track bully farmer's leaguers who've been on holiday for a month we will face there.

                    More players, better rotation.
