Well the news came out from Ornstien on Arsenal's side. I think it's more a case of the board will approve his signing if he's interested or if Real pull his contract offer.Originally posted by PSRB View PostCan't see it happening.....agent looking for more money from Madrid
That doesn't seem likely, though. Hope they've not lost focus on Bruno and Alvarez with this distraction.

Same with Alvarez, at that price. For us, he'd need to start every game.Originally posted by PSRB View Post

None of us care about the money, of course. Having a player that needs to play every match regardless would be tricky though.Originally posted by Rich View Post
He would. But anyway; it's not your money so don't worry about it and enjoy the ride! Back-to-back league titles, anyone?
Personally, I shall be happy with whatever they do."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

Why do people want Alvarez? After watching those Argentinian games in the World Cup, I wouldn't want any of them anywhere near our club. He didn't look as good as Vic in the Champions League semi-final and we need a left-winger, not another forward when we have Kai, Vik and MnM. Those are three good options. If all are fit, we can make something work with that. It's just that we've sold Leo already. I know we have the new Bubble but he's coming from Belgium.
But it seems neither of the great left-wingers want to join us.
I would've hoped it would've been an easy sell telling people to come to the Arsenal. Champions, a whisker away from the Champions League final {and we've been going one better every year} and the best back six in Europe with Dec at DM. If one of them were to join us, they could make themselves an all-time legend.
But it seems no one wants us, a bit like in the George Graham years. We'll just have to do it with players that want to play for us, it will be part of a great squad and who will improve under MA.

Agreed re Alvarez, not convinced at all that he would improve us and I'm looking forward to seeing how Gyok will improve this year given his improvement 2nd half last season. Whenever I see Alvarez play I barely notice him. The WC is hardly at the same level as the CL and even with Messi next to him he was largely anonymous in the games I watched. And more importantly, he's an Argie. I never ever want to see any of those c*nts in the shirt.Originally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostWhy do people want Alvarez? Vini I would be very happy with, and Madrid just bought the young winger that Rich assured us was going to Liverpool. Or was it PSG? Either way, he may be an option now.
I'd happily sign Stones, Tzolis, Vini and a midfielder, ideally not Guimaraes if we have to pay 80mil or so.

Vini should call our bluff and say publicly that he'd be up for it - the kroenke's would probably **** themselves. Call me cynical but It feels like a bit of PR on our part after Rogers. We know full well he ain't moving.
Can see where that Bruno move is headed as well. Glad we finally sorted another left sided attacker if nothing else.

Generally I would agree with you but the wildcard is Mourinho and Vini had a massive falling out last year if you will recall. Accused him of playing the race card to get a Benefica player sent off.Originally posted by All Guns Blazing II View PostVini should call our bluff and say publicly that he'd be up for it - the kroenke's would probably **** themselves. Could make it get ugly between them but I agree it is unlikely he leaves
