    Leandro Trossard to Besiktas

Announced just before England’s soul-sucking semi-final defeat against Argentina, it would have been easy to miss Trossard’s £15.3m move to Istanbul. While, after three and a half seasons and at the age of 31, it feels like his time at Arsenal has come to a natural conclusion, he will be remembered as a player who scored in clutch moments and, ultimately, played a crucial role in the club’s first league title in 22 years. Trossard departs after 174 appearances and 36 goals, a significant portion of which came from the bench in times of desperate need. He will be missed and deserves to be revered as one of the cult heroes of the Mikel Arteta era.

Reminds me of Nacho in the respect that he wasn't a big marquee signing and bought in to boost numbers but turns out to be one of our most reliable players.

That's right. Gibbs got injured and we only had that Andre Santos who'd never played as a defender before {which made sense when you watched him.} So we signed Nacho in the winter as opposed waiting to summer.

I remember cos someone posted here that hopefully he'd give us cover until Gibbs was back and someone replying "I watch La Liga and I think young Gibbs might not get his place back if Monreal plays in the PL like he does in Spain."

Great signing, and our first LB who could also play CH.

Yes, I did. Which makes selling Martinelli even more of an odd decision that it already would be.

Brilliant signing. We needed someone to come in and contribute immediately as we found ourselves short handed in an unexpected title race. He contributed from his first appearance off the bench and has been a huge contributor ever since.

Merino is proving similar. Cheap, reliable, adaptable, and a great member of the squad.

Unsung heroes. and that goal at west ham

Oh, that rings a bell. What did Nacho do when he came off the bench?

Trossard came off the bench at 2-2 against United, about four days after signing. Played a ball to Partey that led to the winner. Nothing spectacular, but the work of a guy who could walk in off the street and play in that side.

He was a perfect fit from the word go and having seen him at Brighton i was astonished that we didnt go for him first. We chased that Ukrainian lad and dodged a bullet.

Would seem we've signed Greek left midfielder / winger Tzolis from Brugge for £34m. Aged 24. Formerly of Norwich City though loaned abroad most of his time there.
