Well they're never going to sell to Real, are they? Barca can't bid more than the 100m they have already so either he stays at Athletico or joins us for about ?120m. I'd take him at that price - he's one of the best forwards in world football.Originally posted by John Bunnell View PostRejected as well. Insane money. I am also hearing rumours that we might be interested Vinicius Jr. Now normally I'd be against this sort of signing but it's clear that we need a bit of X Factor in forward areas.
Do we think the squad is big enough and mature enough to handle one player who may have a bit of ego? I think it's a risk worth taking.

Arteta is not going to be able to soften his stance on his 'non negotiables'. And i think he is right. I dont think we will be signing players that raise that kind of concern.
I dont like that Vinicius chap at all. But that may well be an outside impression. Who knows how he is in the dressing room..

Agree... we don't know what he is like as a man. But what we do know is that he is probably the best left winger in world football. So from a purely footballing perspective; he would improve us dramatically.Originally posted by Peter View PostGenuinely....no, I don't i think it only takes one tosser to ruin a dressing room.

These things can be overblown. All footballers are necessarily affable, clubbable even, by nature.Originally posted by Peter View PostGenuinely....no, I don't i think it only takes one tosser to ruin a dressing room.

As you pointed out, the key is the dressing room."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
