My 'Specially Selected Lightly Sea Salted Crinkle Cut Crisps' from Aldi are made using a variety of potato supplied to the farmer by this firm:
Arsenal is a high yielding maincrop potato ✓ Round oval tubers ✓ Light yellow flesh ✓ PCN tolerant ✓ Good virus resistance ✓ Processing ✓ Crisping

I get these crisps when I'm in Spain. They are still actually fried in oil, you get greasy fingers after eating them. It is like how crisps used to be in this country until we started trying to be overly healthy on everything and processing foods to within an inch of their life.

My Mrs is Iranian and she's introduced me to their equivalent to Wotsits. Called Chee.toz they are the best cheesy corn based snack on Earth. Unbelievable. If any of you swing by Finchley the shops their do them grab a bag you won't be sorry.

The UK has better Wotsits than Wotsits.

M&S Cheese Tasters are a far superior cheesy snack.

Of course the greatest cheesy snack by far are Cheetos Crunchy. But you can't get them in the UK or Europe as far as I can tell.

            Shame

I know it's scandalous. If we are talking strictly UK crisps obviously it's Monster Munch Flamin' Hot.

I hope you understand that all such snacks contain no cheese whatsoever. Just chemicals that have been contrived to resemble cheese but can only be tolerated by blue collar feather-wits and Canadians.

I miss sitting in the pub with a pint of real ale and a pack of Pipers. S&V or Cheese and Onion.

                          Both excellent imo.
