Today was our ninth "double" too. No penalties, no red cards.

Well done to Mikel; he didn't raise our ceiling, performance-wise (pointless against Pep's City anyway). Instead he raised our floor.

And then we won the league
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

We must now act accordingly. We are champions. We set the standard. We must meet it next season.

Particularly if we end as champions of Europe

If he doesn't raise the ceiling, I'll hit the roof.

Trust us, Peter, we are fully prepared for your inevitable 'analysis' next season.

You are nothing if not consistent

No, we still cannot afford an arms race. We will continue to raise our floor, that's how we won the league. Perhaps even more importantly, that's how the others didn't win. More Jovers (1.5 million quid pa. plus goal bonuses), fewer goal-shy superstar forwards (maybe 100 million in transfer fees, almost 20 million a year salary each plus bonuses).

But seriously, looked at that way; although we know why Wenger the football manager turned up his nose at such an idea, Wenger the economist must be kicking himself he didn't think of it first. Twenty plus goals a season for 2 million pounds all in; it is the ultimate football Moneyball goldmine!

What is interesting.....in recent years we have spoken about our strength ahainst the top sides.

This season our record against the 5 other sides in the top six was not good:
              10 games
              3 wins
              2 draws
              5 defeats
              11 points

              Against the bottom 14:
              28 games
              23 wins
              5 draws
              0 defeats
              74 points.

So we know exactly where to improve- those 5 draws against the bottom 14- disgraceful!

Gyokeres out. Nice celebration and a' that but perhaps it's time for him to move on to pastures new, perhaps greener.

                He's had his chance
