    greats in a way we wouldn't have been able to do without a title.

    Daveed can now rightly be talked about as being up there with Spunky and Mad Jens. {Big Paddy counts for the 4 finals in 3 years and John Lukic, too.}

    Big Willy and Big Gabby can now rightly join that hallowed club of great Arsenal CH pairings, in a week our double winning partner of Big Frank died. McLintock and Simpson, Big Tone with O'Leary, Bould, Keown, Sol and Kolo.

    JT rightly being compared to Lauren.

    Dec and B. Odin is only our third title-winning captain of my life.

    But we had some great back 5s under GG and AW and these boys join them.

    I know everyone says Dec for player of the season, but I do think Daveed's been just as good. How many points has he saved us?

    Ganpati willing, he can go even better the day after my 55th birthday. They all can.

    I know it's just a bit of fun and a' that but I really dislike comparing our players. It's like fans comparing Iron Maiden albums or eras; either you love them or you don't. It always ends up with one or another being declared ****.
    "Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

    "But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

      I know what you mean, but it was that Rio comment that B can't be considered a great player because he hasn't won anything.

      We could have lost the league if that WHU "goal" hadn't been overturned and I dislike the idea that Daveed, Big Willy and Gabby, B, Dec etc are now great players but wouldn't have been if that one decision hadn't been overturned. Or if GabbyGol hadn't scored the late equaliser against City.

      My point is that people like Rio were saying our players weren't great cos they hadn't won anything. Now they can't use that as a stick to beat us with.

      Basically, I think Daveed has got a good claim to be our player of the season, and he could end up being up there with Spunky or even, possibly, beyond.

        Ridiculous though, isnt it. As though William Saliba woke up a much better player on Wednesday than he did on Tuesday.

          He probably woke up a slightly worse player after just a couple of hours sleep and with a banging hangover!

              That's my point, mate.

              I may not know that much about football, but I still know what a good 'Keeper and CH pairing looks like. As a Gooner I've been blessed to have seen loads.

              But the Ferdinands et al were saying we weren't allowed to call any of our players great cos they hadn't won the title.

              {Is Lineker not great? Would Shearer not have been great if that Blackburn guy hadn't bought the club and spunked all that money? Was Gaza not a great?}

              Well, they can't say that now. Which is why I'm happy. Now please, Lord, let the lads take it to a new level on May 30th.

                Rio Ferdinand was a great player. But I am not remotely interested in anything he has to say about the game.

                People still laugh when i say Raya is as good as any keeper in the world. And when you ask them to name a better one you can understand why they dont get it. They haven't got a ****ing clue.

                But dont think that winning the league is going to shut them up. It won't. And it really doesnt matter.

                And we should always look at contribution as much as talent. I think most of us would acknowledge that Saliba is an exceptionally gifted defender, a genuine Rolls Royce. Gabriel probably isnt. But I think you could argue Gabriel is possibly more important to us, to the team. His contribution is enormous in all aspects.

                  Gabriel isn?t nearly the player when Will isn?t in the team. I recall the Norwegian Orc tearing him a new one in that position some time ago.

                  Still a good player of course

                    Nothing for us true believers to get involved with. Let supporters of other clubs have their fun; pundits, neutrals, gamblers, fantasy football league managers and so on.

                    Nothing to do with us. As I say, they are only doing it to bait us into condemning some of our own players.

                      I think Daveed is as good a 'keeper as I've seen. Could perhaps say others have been as good but none better.

                      His role in our success has been so underrated.

                        Apparently, we concede a goal every 90 mins without Gabby playing. A goal every 140+ when he does.

                        But together then are the perfect partnership. And with Daveed behind them.....
