  • Vik-haters. It's unfair to compare him with Haarland, we should compare him with

    those available last summer - Etitike, Sesko and Isak.

    Vik's got 14 PL goals, they have 11, 10 and 3.

    {Btw, Vik's got 16 in 28 in all European games, Isak's got 4 in 33.}

    We only had those options last year. It seems we got as good as anyone else, if not better.

    If we look at him during the first half today, he looked stunning with B playing. He hasn't had B for much of the season, nor a fit Odin {while Easy looks great now, he took a while to fit in} and he didn't have Kai to take the heat while he came through slowly.

    Let's just pray B stays fit and Vik goes on the best run of his career.

    Only Haaland, Thiago Silva and Semenyo have scored more league goals than him. Only Haaland and Thiago have a better goals per minute ratio. And Thiago has scored 8 penalties.

    He isn't Haaland. We knew that. But he is scoring goals and, more importantly, he is getting better. At the crunch point of the season he is playing his best football.

    And unlike our other centre forwards, he isnt ****ing injured.

      He's getting better. And having B to work with made him look such a better player. Though tbf, Puddle Paws could probably score and make goals if he had B alongside him and a belly full of tuna.

      But my point is that the three traditional big clubs all wanted new strikers last summer. There were only four available. And Vik's got the best numbers of the lot.

      If MA hadn't signed him saying he wanted to wait for a 30 a season striker, then the fans would have gone mad.

      Seems lucky atm we didn't get Isak.

        I remember the Isak conversation. I didnt want him because I thought he was too expensive and too injury prone. I'll leave that one there....

        Sesko has looked really good in parts but he is still young and needs more time. We wanted a striker for now.

        Ekitike looks a really good player. But I dont think he would have suited us. He is not really set up for the physical side of the game.

        I think Vik was the best option.
