  • Why hasn't we played MLS is MF more?

He was amazing as a teenage FB playing out of position and we all said that long term MF was gonna be his best position.

Imagine we'd just signed a teenage MF for ?40m and he played his debut like MLS did today, we'd be well happy.

    If he's not gonna play Norgie we need DM cover {well have MnM back for AM.}

We have Ricky C and Hinchappie {and JT} to play LB. Let's try MLS as the backup DM next season.

The tweak to midfield has changed things. Rice was outstanding in Madrid playing deeper alongside the centre backs. He was excellent today. He's shown me he is actually an even better player than I thought he was.

MLS took it up a notch today. Creating angles, always wanting the ball, moving it quicker. Suddenly we were opening up the centre of the pitch and creating options.

Why oh why oh why did he not try this tweak 6 months ago

Our last two performances have been about our best this season.

Apparently, Dec is actually a centre-back.

Anyway that's what he was doing when Wenger first noticed him; Rice was fifteen and playing for West Ham United Schoolboys. Said he was clearly the best player on the pitch.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

        Dec Ode Eze midfield

The way forward if Ode could ever stay fit

If we're playing {a fit and at his best} BW and Ricky C, both charging forward, then I get starting with Zubi. Also play Zubi for the toughest games and go more attacking later if need be.

But with JT and Hinchappy being so good defensively, then yes - Dec-Odin-Easy. He did try that one game but Odin got injured after 30 mins, and Zubi came on and made both goals.

And imagine if we were chasing a winner and MA could take off a defender {like we did at Newcastle} and go 3 at the back - Dec - 2 wingers, two tens - Kai - Vik. Would love to see that.

I'm not convinced about Odegaard and Eze together in midfield.

I dont really trust either of them to shield in defensive areas or play tight situations. MLS is a more realistic option. He and Rice have the same ability- to change the speed of the game in an instant. Odegaard doesn't do that.

If Eze can adjust his game he is a good option on the left. I still think that can work.

And of course, I know that midfield worked today but I wouldn't try it on Tuesday. Zubimendi shpuld come back in.

But MLS showed us where his future at fhe club lies today. And it certainly isnt at left back.
