Is he a significant upgrade on Martinelli ? They?ll expect a sizeable fee for him.

Definitely not. We're not spending a fortune buying rubbish from Newcastle.

Not as long as Chelsea have plenty of crap available

Yes he is a significant upgrade on Martinelli and Trossard. Could we do better? Yes.

That being said; 17 goals this term leaves him on course for 20+ which is likely better than anyone in our team will manage - and from the left wing.

His defensive output is also best in class.

No point arguing that with Rich. Martinelli only avoids his anger these days because we signed somebody he hates more.

What's really important is whether Gordon is good at beating the low block. This is what we need. Players who are good against a low block. This is where Arteta, Berta and the scouts have gone wrong. Not enough players who are good against a low block. It really is that simple.

Understandable, of course, as we are the only team that faces a low block and it's a very recent thing. They just need to adjust and the quadruple will be ours.

We should be fine against City, then.

Just as we were at Anfield. And Villa Park. And Chelsea......
