  • Last night - Vik, Easy, B/Odin and home advantage

Firstly, that was Vik's best game in which he didn't score, imo.

We've had games all season where people have said that Vik's off the ball work was really good, making space for others to score etc. And people's interpretations of these games has depended on whether they were pro- or anti-Vik.

But last night he was really involved. If someone had shown me a video of that game in the summer and said this is an example of a game in which he doesn't score, I'd have been more than happy with us signing him. He created loads, had loads more touches than normal and really seems to be fitting in with the team now.

As does Easy. He's getting better and better for us. Really linking play well and as Dec says, his shooting from the edge of area. We're really starting to see what he can do now. I like the way he thanks The Divine for his goals. Let's hope that on Sunday he's doing another interview where he's thanking God because he sticketh it into the old onion bag and wineth his first trophy with us.

B's not in the best form but still involved. Why Noni didn't come on Arteta alone knows. He does miss having Odin for the triangles, both Dec and Easy drift right.

Finally, we saw the advantage of this new thing where we play the 2nd legs at home for coming in the top 2. That might have been useful against PSG last year. According to Dec, in the first leg vs BL we got the press all wrong. If we'd done that at home in a first leg, we'd have been in a trickier position having to go away and get it right.

Btw, has anyone been to a game since we got these drums? I hate the sound and it also means one person alone chooses the crowd rhythm. Must be horrible.

    The drumming is infuriating.

Agree that Vik was excellent last night. Eze also good. And Hincapie superb, again.

Three of our summer signings really starting to perform now.

I wonder if the plan is that Saka starts on the bench on Sunday......

Re the subs, I think white and Trossard were always going to come off after an hour or so. Maybe Zubimendi as well. And then he had to take off Eze (who said after the game that he is fine). So maybe that is why Saka stayed on.

Vik and Eze were very good, both of whom were written off by many on here not so long ago. There's a lesson there, but one that AWIMB has consistently rejected over the years.

I hope he starts White and Saka again on Sunday, with Gyok up front.

Assuming Timber isnt fit, he will start White. But he wont last the game.

I still dont think we are using Eze properly. He got a lot of space last night because Leverkusen made an awful lot of errors.

We need to work harder on getting him on the ball in the right areas.

Given how good Calafiori was in the first half of the season it is pretty astonishing that Hincapie is currently keeping him out of the side. Shows just how well he has been playing.

After the match, Dec said that Easy's the best at shooting from the edge of the box so we need to get the ball to him there more.

I think he's getting better each week, fitting in with the team and our style of play more and more.

The downside is that B doesn't have the ten there to play triangles with. Easy goes out to the left.

But with Odin out, if we're chasing a goal, we can either play Easy and Kai as twin tens, and Kai likes to drift over there, or what we did vs the Toffees - move B to inside right and play Noni or the young doctor on the wing.
