?Football gods? really want us to win stuff this year. Probably going to end up in another final in a comp Arteta probably would rather not be in.

If we were losing finalists in the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League and runners-up in the Premier League, would that be a successful season? Can't remember if we would meet Citeh before the final in the CL draw, think we do, but they could still win all four competitions.Originally posted by Pat Vegas View Post?Football gods? really want us to win stuff this year. We have to win the league. All else is gamble and luxury, or consolation.Originally posted by pjlincs View PostIf we were losing finalists in the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League and runners-up in the Premier League, would that be a successful season? If we dont win the league this season it will be seen as a failure- a huge opportunity squandered.

Some of our lads have the opportunity to better the legendary Bayer Leverkusen side of 2002. They "bottled" the league (by a point, having led by five with three to play), lost the cup final and also the Champions League final. A few of them even capped off that fine season by losing the World Cup final as wellOriginally posted by pjlincs View PostIf we were losing finalists in the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League and runners-up in the Premier League, would that be a successful season? Stood at Wembley in 80 when we lost to West Ham, then at the Heysel when we lost to Valencia. No wonder I’m grew up to be a bitter old man.Originally posted by pjlincs View PostIf we were losing finalists in the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League and runners-up in the Premier League, would that be a successful season? I was almost nine. Sat with my dad at Wembley, watched the Valencia game on the telly. Think dad told me we'd lost 5-0 and not qualified for the Uefa.Originally posted by Sir C View PostStood at Wembley in 80 when we lost to West Ham, then at the Heysel when we lost to Valencia.
