Not sure what was going on with the pitch but especially in that 1st half they were all slipping over.Originally posted by 7sisters View PostMe too. That pass back to Raya with Pedro bearing down on him was f?ckwittery of the highest order, given that he had several open options left and right.
He seems to slip quite a bit too. Needs longer studs imo

They turned us round on the coin toss so we were kicking to the North bank in the first half. I would say we water the end we are "meant" to be attacking more before the game and then more the other end at half time. So when we were suddenly defending the wetter end, it caught us out a bit.Originally posted by PSRB View PostNot sure what was going on with the pitch but especially in that 1st half they were all slipping over.

Ah right. I do think teams that switch ends are by and large, massive pricksOriginally posted by Maravilloso Marvo View PostThey turned us round on the coin toss so we were kicking to the North bank in the first half. I want him to get at least 4 more goals this season so he hits double figures. As before he joined us he'd only scored 10 goals in his entire career.Originally posted by Peter View PostHe seems to be constantly out of position
In a similar vein, that's one reason I feel really sorry for MnM. A good box-to-box MFer and we know he can do the creative stuff and has the height to win duels. But that time playing for us up top showed him both what he needs to do to score and that he has the talent for it.
On the back of which, he'd made himself a regular starter in the Spanish side. If before, he was one of the options and then suddenly, he's playing just as well in MF but he's also scoring hat-tricks, he becomes nailed on. And playing with his Arsenal and previously RS teammate in Zubi made the choice even clearer. That spell as our CF had made him a starter in a team with a real shout of winning the WC this summer.
That's another reason it was gutting Big Gabby injured him in pre-season. With Kai moved up top, MnM was the next attempt to replace the GX role. With Dec at DM and Odin on the right, MnM could have been doing the work, but also creating on th edge of the box and arriving late inside to score like Freddie used to do. We're really lucky to have him, just gutted it looks like he'll miss the WC Finals.

Midfielders, see. They score a couple of goals and it goes straight to their heads and they start believing they can actually play footballOriginally posted by Peter View PostHe seems to be constantly out of position
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

You wouldn't have caught Gilberto poncing about up the pitch, finding spaces and floating passes. He was in front of his centre backs, shovelling the ball sideways and taking a yellow for the team.Originally posted by redgunamo View PostMidfielders, see. Proper midfield anchor. These new fangled 'deep-lying playmakers' are a bunch of bad eggs (apart from Mikel, obviously).
