I don't know why I could enjoy them this year. Maybe the Easy story helped? But I remember some I went to that were torture. At the new gaff, I remember being 3-0 up with 50 mins played and we were in absolute control. But I just worried that we'd give them a goal and then it would be nervy and even though we were the better side, and I knew we'd win, I was worried they'd then score a late 2nd to make a really nervy finished.
The fact that we just kept control didn't stop me worrying. Only in injury time with it still at 3-0 did I begin to relax. I hated that second half of football. Almost more than that one when we were 2-0 at HT and lost 3-2 with our skipper, Cesc giving away a pen for handball in the wall. Or that one when they scored twice in the last 5 mins to make it 4-4 and I missed both our goals after HT still waiting for my ****ing coffee. Silvestre's only goal, I think. {God we used to buy rejects like him, not world class youngsters like Triphop and Hinchappy.}
Though Cesc picking their pockets at the post-goal kick off and waltzing through them to score while we were still watching the replays of RvP's goal was something special. Only hearing the sound change in the Clock End drew our eyes from the screens to the pitch.
But obviously the best was Titi's cos I was in the Norf Bank upper a bit to the right of centre. And he dribbled up the left {our right} and cut inside and looked to shoot. Then he thought, actually, I'm not directly in front of GG and his brother, so I better skip across the edge of the box a bit more, beat another Sperzer or two and then, when I'm directly in front of GG's seats*, only then will I whack it in the net and run down the Clock End to give it to the Spuds.
*I'm sure karmically, our old man chose those seats somehow knowing what would happen a decade or more later.

I missed both goals after HT. Our seats were in the middle of a row, so would be one of the last to the bar. Was still queueing up when we scored just after HT. I stayed to complain, saying it wasn't on when we pay all this money that they don't have enough staff to serve everyone at HT. While I was complaining we scored again to go 4-2 up. I was fuming now. They gave me the coffee for free. Into which I put about a dozen sugars before nipping to the bogs to put in about 3 double brandies. Horrible game.
Were you at the 5-4?
I listened to that on the radio, at some mate's house where we'd been sleeping on the sofa for a month going to India either that very night or the next day.

No, watched the 5-4 at a mate's in Clapham. Enjoyed that one, my mate's were all supporting spurs to wind me up.
The won the infuriated me despite my elation was the 2-2 at their place when we clinched in 04.
Not sure I ever forgave Jens for that pen.
Yup. Sperz celebrating a last minute equaliser after we'd just won the league, undefeated, on their ground, as Titi had to point out to them.
The thing Jens did that was unforgivable was getting sent off in the CL final so we had to take Bobby P off. Especially after that save at home vs Real. He backhanded it onto the post, like a batsman who takes his glove off the bat, but deliberately. Genius. Never seen anything like it.
He really was, as Bobby P said, a mad German *******.
We really have been blessed with some 'keepers down the years. Which is why AW's Almunia obsession and then sacking Sir Chez to get that girly-hatted Chav reject was so unforgivable. Never spent more than ?1m on a 'keeper before him. GG spent ?1.3m on Spunky in 1990.

The thing with the Jens vs spurs one, I'm a bit conflicted, on the one hand we should have won and on the other was spurs fans & players thinking they stopped us winning it at theirs.
The ref ****ed up vs should have let play go as the ball ran straight to the Barca player who scored. 1-0 down 11 vs 11
