We 100% deserved that. And just to make damn sure, we created the goal for them.

That second half performance was as bad I've seen in years.

This was worse, although merely another episode in the same ongoing black comedy.....

Oh, I totally agree with that.

But that Bueno player looked at Leo and decided to hurt him. That wasn't just an unfortunate by product of a heavy tackle.

He actively decided to shoulder him in the jaw off the ball. How is that not a foul? He was on a yellow and should have walked.

Leo's replacement scores an OG after a move he basically created on the left.

Oh, we totally deserved that. We don't deserve to win the title if we can't hold on to a 2-0 lead. But they give straight red to players trying to win the ball who can't quite keep their studs down because that loss of control can sometimes injure people.

But when a player just goes out to injure someone off the ball, leading to his substitution with concussion, that's all right.

I don't get it, just like I don't understand the shirt pulling law.

I dont think anyone genuinely understands the thinking behind red cards anymore. Including refs.

Calafiori blocked the debut kid's shot on the line, diverted it sideways where it hit the post, rebounded back, struck Cala again and went in. No way is that an o.g. Quite rightly has been credited to Edozie. And yes, we deserved that. Not the first rush of blood to the head Raya has been guilty of this season.

Disagree, that was Raya's ball all day long. Gabriel should have known that. Only excuse is if Raya didn't call.

100% agree. None of the pundits picked that up. They all blamed Raya.

                    Again, I agree with that.

But my point is that a player actually trying to win the ball whose studs go up gets sent off whether he injures the player or not because it's potentially dangerous as he could seriously injure the player.

Bueno looks across to see where Leo is and then deliberately smacks him in the chin with the top of his shoulder. He intended to injure Leo off the ball and does so, giving him concussion and getting him subbed off.

That should have been a second yellow at least. Imo, it should be a straight red. He wasn't trying to win the ball, like those late, studs up tackles that get a straight red are. He decided to see if he could hurt him, had a look at where he was, decided he could and did so. Paul Davis without the justification.

Consensus seems to be that there was nothing wrong with Trossard, the guy didnt touch him, and the whole thing was a big ruse from us to waste time and bring on a concussion sub.

It is hard to overstate just how hated we are across the country. Never seen anything like this, even under George Graham.

I'm getting people I've known for years literally seething with rage about everything we do, throwing parties every time we drop points.

We have really, really pissed people off

Since broadcast football took off in England, the main voices we've heard from have been Scouse and Manc, because they won all the trophies; people knew all their faces. Everyone's been conditioned by that.

We, as their rivals and not to mention hated southerners, have borne the brunt of it and simply never had players of similar standing, stature and repute to hold up our end. Keown speaks well as does Alan Smith but they've never won the European Cup, unlike dozens of Liverpool and Manchester United players.

Thierry Henry is a regular guest on football telly too, but even his presence there is an implicit dig at, and criticism of, the Arsenal, as despite being a club great, he never won the Champions League with us; he won the most important trophies of his career elsewhere. With France and Barcelona.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Have they really been saying that? That Leo faked it and got himself subbed when we were doing ok and were well organised?

Even the commentator on that stream said you can see him glance across and Leo and then decide to take him out. The commentator at the time said it, and again at least twice during the replays.

I don't get how that isn't a foul when you can get a straight red making a genuine attempt to win the ball and just fail to keep your oeg down or slightly mistime it.

That's why Paul Davis got a 9 game ban. Because it wasn't a late tackle, it was a deliberate attempt to injure.

I know I don't get this sport but what am I missing here?

It is clearly a foul. But the suggestion is that we made a massive deal out of it to waste as much time as possible, and faked the concussion so that play couldn't continue until Trossard was ok. And it is neat, because we brought on Calafiori who then scored an own goal. So people have latched onto it as a form of justice

The bit you are missing is everybody hating us.

And.... you can see their point. We frequently waste time and break up the game. I know everyone does it but we are among the worst when we really shouldn't be. If our fans hate watching it, imagine how others feel.

I'm afraid we have brought this on ourselves.
