The bias on Sunday was a bit odd but he's okay. I don't mind either him or Carragher as pundits, just hate them on comms.

You're only saying that because he, and his brother, both happen to know which end of a cricket bat is which
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I'm sure we'd all be happy to settle for that compromise, but you cant have it both ways.
At least the football is only ninety minutes long, unlike test cricket

But I don't think Gary is that bad on commentary. There is definitely bias there but who cares?? Alan Smith is not exactly impartial

All I look for is a tiny bit of insight. The ability to call it out when a player has done something deliberately, or when a ref has clearly dropped the ball on something.

          I can't stand Carragher. Tosser.

i must admit, it does annoy me with test cricket. Most of the commentary teams and pundits are excellent but you have to have someone who has played that level, and faced balls at that pace. The rest of us simply aren't able to talk with authority about it.

And as you say, there is a lot of air to fill over five days.....

              Not possible.

Dancing with the fans of that promoted team that beat us in the first game, BW's debut, with half our team out with covid.

This season, I had the misfortune to hear him for the NUFC 2-1 win.

We go one down and he says real title contenders would find a way to equalise but we won't cos we're not.
              We equalise.
He's pissed off but says, yeah, but really real title contenders would go on and win it.
              We do.
He says, and I quote: "Oh. Oh, oh, oh. ..... Oh."

There is no way this bint could be worse than him

Stephen Hawkins could give her his voice box and I could give her a 2g line of K and she would still have a better accent and make more sense than Gary ****ing Neville.

The 'oh, oh, oh' bit..... I think you are reading that a bit wrong. He goes on to say this feels huge etc......

Clearly, he isnt a fan. But I dont think he is the worst. I find Carragher worse.

Please just drop it, P. My hatred of G Nev is irrational.

I've spent all my life as a pacifist hippy, literally turning the other cheek after winding people up and getting a serious kicking for it. Multiple times.

But if I knew where Nev's kids went to school, I'd invoke the Goddess Kali and strangle them with a silken thread.

I hate him more than Sperz, Chavs, City, Yanks, Ruskies, Chinks, Tories, Brexiters, Macron, BJP/Rss/Shiv Sena Hindutva scum all put together.

Give me the address of his kids' homes and a roll of silk thread and I'll show you I'm serious.

Were your parents hippies, cosmic hippies, junkie hippies or India-trail hippies who know we live in the age of Kali-Yug, btw?

                  {FTR, I love them all equally. All God Is One and all that. I just ****ing detest Neville.}

An irrational hatred makes no sense. I understand perfectly

My parents just loved the music. They still went to work every day. Well, most days

You could go and see Pink Floyd and still go to work the next morning.

Our sound system had the bass bins from PF's Animals tour. I'm sure the world, well the west, would be a better place if we all listened to hippy music instead of gangsta rap or that manufactured boyband type ****.

The lyrics for about 15 years from Dylan through Lennon-Mac to Roger Walters {before he went totally off his rocker} probably do more to invoke the real spirit of Christianity than pretty much all of the New Testament baring the actual words of Jesus as reported in one or more of the 4 Gospels.

You're waiting for me to point out they are simply the working class lyricists of Romanticism which started 150+ years previously with the upper class poets, aren't you?

As such, your parents are Romantics as well as hippies.

Until I did that BA course and then later watched the Scharma doc, I never realised that our crusty traveller free rave/festy scene was in fact the apogee and last hurrah of Romanticism. Working class yoof Romanticism started with the hippies and ended with us.

Your parents listening to PF is no different to middle class poetry groups discussing the works of Lord Byron in the 1820s.

Floyd was really just an example. Their real passions were Dylan and The Who. Same rule applies though.

And by the way, Roger Waters- what an absolute ****ing ****. I could never hate any footballer the way I hate him.

And in the working class youth aspect, where are you putting the Mods? They predated the hippies

On the reverse of that, I always disliked Kevin Davies but he was a really nice chap. PJ thought he'd redone his ACL against Bolton and straight after the match Davies came straight to his box to check on him and see how he was. Thankfully it was just a meniscus injury.
