The invincibles. But never really got to celebrate it the way I would now.

We are so close and for a certain generation of Arsenal fans; this season is everything. For me; Arteta has easily equalled Wenger?s achievements.

I so so hope we do what we have set ourselves up for. As Mikel and Dec say; we have decided how we are going to live the next four months. Drink it in and what will be will be.

Up The Arsenal. I love this football club so much.

You've never thought of a 0-0 home draw v Nottingham Forest as a great result...

The titles of GG and AW were farking magnificent. We forget those who are too you to enjoy those memories.
We also carry the scars of the in between seasons that they don't.
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

I want my dad to see Arsenal win the champions league. And he isnt getting any younger. Mikel and this team are my best hope.

Wenger?s achievements were mostly subtle. Admittedly I didn?t know The Arsenal pre Wenger (or not knowingly). I distinctly recall listening to Arsenal V Wimbledon on the alarm radio when I was supposed to be sleeping. I want to say we won 6-1 so that?ll give you an idea on timing,

But never in my life as an Arsenal fan have we been widely considered the best team in the world, now we are - so drink it in.

9 points clear in the PL and favourites to win it. Joint top scorers and best defence.

Won every game in the CL. Favourites.

        Favourites for CC.

        Favourites for FA cup.

We?d never have dreamed of this under wenger.

2002-2005 wenger was was a fantastic side. We were playing the best football on the planet. The invincibles could have done the treble that year.

This team has achieved nothing yet. Winning the league this year would be great, even without the rest of it.

Then next year we have to do it again.

I?d feel far more confident if we were performing consistently, like champions, and blowing sides away. That 5-0 thumping of Leeds back in 2003-4, where the run in became a bit of a procession.
We?re still puffing and blowing a bit but that may partly be down to it being a far tougher competition these days than back then. The levels from top to bottom are so much higher.
It?s still only 25 games, whereas, if it was 30, I?d feel more relaxed, given the points differential.
It?s still in the balance. 3pts today for City, followed by 3pts dropped away and it can all transform.
Statistically, both clubs will continue to drop points to the end. Villa don?t have enough to make it a three horse race, so Arteta?s never been in a such a strong position.
City buying Guehi & Semenyo was an act of desperation and face saving. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth for me. The Jan window should be stopped for a whole raft of competition reasons, even more so these days, given the financial position of clubs like City. I genuinely think they could have ended up third or fourth without those buys.
The Scousers have a massive incentive today; there?s a bit of a gap opening up for CL places, given the form of Utd & Chelsea and three points dropped would put a big dent in them qualifying.

Everyone saying the title race is over should wind their necks in a bit. City could win today. They could win Wednesday night and then we are heading Brentford, one of the in form teams in the league, just 3 points in front.

Long, long way to go and every team has shown they are capable of an implosion.

Look at our recent one- 2 point out of nine. That's how quickly a big lead can disappear.

I dont think the league is any tighter in terms of quality from top to bottom, but the ****ter teams are becoming more efficient with tactics. It makes even the more straightforward games a little trickier as you may outplay teams but you still have to break them down.

I wonder if that little blip will do us good. I was getting a bit scared when we looked like going 8 points clear. I'm not scared now

Winning the Rumbelows would be a start, something that squad never managed. Not even a final.

Well, we've made it an issue. Could have just ducked out early on. Now if we lose that final the bottle jobs tag will come out again.

So now we have to win a competition we had no interest in, and our least important game of the rest of the season becomes the most important

I blame Arteta for this. We were capable of losing in all those previous rounds and he ****ed it up.....

Imagine buying all those new players. He ought to have told Berta to sit down; all youngsters are under-employed enough nowadays as it is.

Exactly. Ethan has been packed off to France like an evacuee. And poor Miles has been left here to become ****.

Good coaching, bad parenting. I blame the hippies.

I think it is, P. The PL is so much richer now. 6 teams in the CL, 5 of whom made top 8. Europa final between teams in 16th and 17th or whatever it was. Hammers won the Conf with Dec. It's a lot tighter nowadays - we were Invincibles in '04, and undefeated away from home in '02. City haven't done that despite winning everything, have they?

I fully agree about AW's achievements. But the league is better in terms of quality as well as tactics, imo.

Speaking of the Milk Cup and our heroic victory in GG's first year, have Arsenal lost a game in which Vik has scored?

No, City haven't gone unbeaten. But they have reached 100 points, and mid 90s several times. The invincibles never did that. In 98 we won the league with 78 points.

Looking at records is a circular argument, though. I can say it is because of tactics, you can argue it is because of quality. And as for Europe, I think we have always known that outside the top 6, the Premier league is far better than the other leagues. That is why our league is so popular- and so rich.

Either way, the point was that there are no easy games these days- apart from Burnley and Wolves.

No, but then we have only lost three games. Give him a chance!
